NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS (yes, about bloody time I had a few)
1. stop cabbing to work whenever I feel lazy. GODDAMNIT WAKE UP EARLIER AND MOVE YOUR ASS FASTER.
2. got a nice highlighting job for my hair. I might just do it over the weekend since I'm so bored and I'm apparently the only person who has lots of free time on her hands. I'm sick of my hair being the bane of my existence and I NEED to do something about it.
3. make new friends. this may or may not be related to the fact that all my friends are going to be busy with work/school over the course of next few months and I'm probably going to be friendless and thus KTV-less/movie-less/clubbing-less. So here's to hoping I'd have more new friends. It'd be an added bonus for them to be hot guys too, just sayin'. YES I'M SAYING I NEED MORE HOT GUY FRIENDS. I EVIDENTLY DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH OF THEM.
4.
be a nicer person and stop being a foul-mouthed bitch YEAH RIGHT HAHA. So I'm mostly a nice person with a fairly pleasant character, but I won't lie that sometimes I derive great pleasure in deliberately being nasty to certain people. Does that make me a horrible person? Oh wait, I don't actually care because I'm self-centered like that and these people have had a track record of being horrible people and karma hates me already anyway. FUCK YEAH. Here's to more unfiltered bitching in 2010!
5. blog more. I really do need to get into the habit of blogging obsessively like I used to. Turns out it's a really useful tool to getting people to remember stuff they don't want to/can't remember.
6. not give in to peer pressure anymore. Sorry folks. Imma do what I like and what I want. If I don't like something I ain't going to do it. I'm going to try to stop some of this "shit, I feel bad so I should just go along with it" bullshit, because that only breeds resentment and it can never end well.
7. be extremely blase towards everything. Like how one wise person once said, the reason why people don't bother her with bullshit is because of how she doesn't give a fuck about anything. EXCELLENT ADVICE, AND I SHALL HEED IT.
8. this is entirely work-related: I've really got to brush up my skills in writing about non-bitching-related stuff. I positively thrive when I'm ranting/being bitchy/sarcastic but that doesn't translate so well when I need to do my work. READ MORE MAGAZINES, THAT'S WHAT I'M GOING TO DO.
And in the spirit of Doing Cliched Shit for New Year, here's a list of
things I've learned in 2009 (I would call them reflections if only they weren't so frivolous)
1. Macbook >>>>>> Windows. Just a couple more months, you and I shall reunite, Macbook. And then I can gladly hurl this Fujitsu piece of shit out of the window.
2. I hate PR. It's a good thing I got a job in PR for a couple of months because it truly made me realise just how much I loathe it and hence entirely removing it as a viable career option. (but then again, it could be because of that souless bitch of a boss I had)
3. One big reason for my hatred of PR was because of how I needed to practically bow down to the media, and also one big reason why my marketing degree is currently languishing at the bottom of my cupboard drawer.
4. I love NBS. This is really random, but I just thought I had to put it out there. Best three years of my schooling life. Or maybe it was just a massive contrast from the shiteous years in JC. (Yes, I'm never going to stop harping on that) Nonetheless I met some really awesome people, had fun studying something I loved, and all in all, just thoroughly enjoyed myself, shiteous professors, taxing projects, free-riding groupmates and all.
5. I have no tolerance for uptight and prissy bitches/moral police/homophobes. In fact, in the year 2010, I resolve to call out/be bitchy towards these people. I'm in the confrontational mood lately so I'm definitely not going to hesitate getting into a quarrel with people who make homophobic comments. Some of my friends definitely came close but I've always held my tongue. SORRY, NO MORE. You spew hate, I will make you eat that hate.
6. I love Love LOVE Europe. Or it could be that I just love being out of Singapore. Freedom and space. I never felt happier.
7. People whose music should be banned from radio: KRIS ALLEN (I swear to God and all higher being, I physically recoil everytime I hear that shiteous single of his on radio. It makes my ears bleed and if you don't believe me go listen to it. No, actually, don't. Wouldn't want to put you through that kind of torture), The Fray, Kings of Leon, The Script, Daughtry, Nickelback, Lifehouse, David Cook, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Owl City, Jason Mraz, Five for Fighting, Three Doors Down, every other Christian rock band/group/singer, every other country singer, every other guy who sounds like anybody on this list, and every other person who makes me fall asleep. YOU PEOPLE MAKE ME WANT TO DO THIS:
(case in point. Lifehouse song playing on radio. Jiayin: "is that David Cook?" me: "THANK YOU FOR PROVING MY POINT")
Oh by the way God/Buddha/whoever's listening I'm not fussy, I promise with all my heart that I will not cuss/become vegetarian for a certain amount of time if you make any one of those people on the list get the boot from their record company. Amount of time will vary with the level of shiteous music said person contributes to the music industry. For example, if Kris Allen gets dropped off by his label by the end of this year, I will not cuss for a year. For the rest of them, I'll not cuss for 6 months.
Seriously. I swear! Cmon, make it happen! Me not cussing is for the greater good!
8. Adam Lambert is a (very pretty) God.

9. Also, Lady Gaga is a Goddess.
10. In fact, the two of them can rule the universe and I will worship at the altar of their fabulosity and genius.
Yeah okay that's it. I did say it was frivolous.
Happy 2010, bitches. I don't believe in all the
this year will be a good year, everything will be better bullshit. If it's good, it's good. If it's shiteous, so be it. It's not being pessimistic. It's called being indifferent.
Still, HAPPY 2010.
