why, doesn't 31st dec 2005 just seem like yesterday?

well, 2006 has been a pretty good year, as compared to the last couple of hellish years, especially school/results-wise.

for the past two years, i've been constantly making excuses for my pathetic results, attributing it to the fact that i just wasn't cut out for the science subjects, but thankfully still doing OK enough to get into the school i wanted to go to, and finally taking subjects that i believed that i would be better at.
however this only brought on extra stress when it came to the exams. if i didn't do well, it would only mean that i'm good at neither the sciences nor the slightly more artsy business, which means that i'm screwed. i was deathly afraid that i'd finally have to concede that i'm just dumb. fortunately, this time round the results were proportionate to the amount of effort put in. stats remain as it is - the bane of my life. but i've always sucked at maths so i don't expect any better. in fact, i've already done much better than expected given that i only did half the paper and had no idea if the other half made sense at all. heehee.

forged new friendships, strengthened old friendships.. this year, despite many of us being seperated (the nus-ers, the ntu peeps, the vj jrs, the army guys), we had many more attempts at gatherings and outings. suddenly you realise the importance of your dear old friends (and like i always say, i've realised that most of my good friends are from dunman. it seemed as though the last two years have been completely obliterated, save for the few gems such as poh, liren, sianghan, jh, vic, rach and co, and the co jrs. but of course, without vj, i wouldnt have got to know dunman peeps like jam, dee and silly seah better!)

2006 was also a good year because i've been blessed with great uni project group mates, some of which are now my good friends whom i'd like to be in the same class as next year. :) also, i've learned that first impressions/looks can be deceiving, and with a little more open-mindedness, you'd have a great time doing projects with the wide variety of people you meet.

2006 was also the year where i became better friends with study group girls because most of us ended up in the same school. many thanks to jiayi and jiayin, my life buoys during lectures and lunches! and to yuexin, who made my journeys home from school much easier and more fun with our seemingly endless amount of gossip :D (oh yeah, must thank your cousin also haha) and whenever we have a study group outing, lots of laughs are guranteed. must thank huimin, vincent and mj too!

and with the leaving of vj, me, seah and lyd oddly ended up being better friends with our vj/vs juniors. it all started one day where i was hit with the sudden urge to go kbox-ing and asked william , who then got jj and ck, and all of us together with lyd, and later on, seah, became the default group to go kbox with. and these nice boys are the people who cooked my birthday dinner haha! thanks guys, and thank you william for introducting me to the wonders of whoseline and craig ferguson heh heh. without which i'd have not been able to survive the exam period and i wouldn't have anything to do at home nowadays :)

one thing that i'm thankful for year after year is the fact that the dhsco com can remain close and tight knit even after 4 years. like jiayin said, i simply cannot comprehend the reasons why the committees after us have so many conflicts. hey, what was our worst? mol and kes unhappy with each other over the locking door incident perhaps? (wahahha. so childishly cute) these people gave me the best memories in all of my four years in dunman, and would probably continue to do so for the years to come -grins- so, thank you guys. thank you (in order of the com!) linli, jiayin, mol, lang, zhi, kes, jieying and mj! :)

and another group of people still remaining close up til today - my 2j mates :) even though we only had one gathering this year, it still made me appreciate them greatly. thank you to all those who showed up during the mid autumn fest gathering - jia, ah fai, wendy, ber, enqi, toonli, wenjin.

and of course, i'd like to thank the people whom i can always count on coming out anytime for a coffee or just a lazy afternoon chat - seah, mol and dee! thank you seah for all the thursday movie outings, the shopping company and a long hours of gossiping and bitching at starbucks. thank you mol for meeting me after school whenever i was bored. haha every girl needs a good guy friend with a good sense of fashion, i say! and of course dee for the chit chat sessions at starbucks as well! you people are the best :)

(wow. so many smiley faces. i am feeling happy today!)

oh yes, i'd like to also thank all my other dunman friends whom i'd neglected to mention. it doesn't mean i don't appreciate you, but it's just that i haven't seen you enough this year, so organise more outings yea? haha.

yes, it has been a pretty blessed year after all. happy 2007 everyone :) (no resolutions for me because they're just plain unrealistic heh heh)

there's nothing quite like strolling in the light drizzle along boat quay at night.
you can imagine it can't you? the bright city skylights, the chilly wind, as we talked about our unrealistic expectations of the future.. (well, i could very well imagine jiayin as an investment banker and multi millionaire by 30, but i think i need to have a rethink about me becoming a marketing director. heh. just a tad unrealistic lar. and i'm starting to suspect tricia didnt really give us A+ for our marketing projects. damnit!)

yes it was com outing again! haha. the last one being during chinese new year. may i just repeat again: MAN, TIME REALLY IS ROCKETING BY!
seems just like yesterday when we were all little sec4 kids, on our numerous com outings to suntec city for dinners followed by long chats by the singapore river. haha! still never fails to amuse me how cute we were.
bah sure. the numbers are dwindling, but you can always count on the.. erm. 8 or 9 of us who will definitely always show up!

well, we watched the new takeshi show, which was good solely because there was takeshi AND tony leung (and if that's not enough reason to go watch it, i don't what is). it makes up for the rather strained artistic attempts of the movie, and the violent scenes.
NO MORE SAD/CONFUSING MOVIES FOR ME OK.
oh, night at the musuem is good though. brainless but hilarious.

after that it was for some silly board games at mind cafe which was a total HOOT
and a "did i actually eat anything at all?" dinner at boat quay. man, what a total cheat of our money that dinner was. we actually paid 12 bucks each for a few pincers of a crab, ONE fried bun, and probably one or two slices of chicken. RIPOFF.

but hey, you know what they say. the company always makes up for it :)

yeah there are actually no differences in the three pics for the rest of us, but just look at that crazy lang. hahahahha

yes look at the crazy lang again. hahahah that girl just cracks all of up man.

altogether now :)

hey i think this is such a pretty picture. RIGHT, AH YIN? haha

ah i love the bright lights of boat quay.

always heartening to know that 4 years down the road, and we're still bothered to meet up with each other despite our conflicting schedules, and we're still so at ease with one another. here's to many more years of com gatherings!

ah love these dhs outings/gatherings. brings me back to a time where life was just good, good, good :)

it was the first time we had a xmas party at jiayin's house and it went great :D
jiayin! make it a tradition leh!

now isn't this a tremendous improvement from last year's christmas where it was spent at some cco meeting??

anyway i'm too tired and lazy to type more. let the pictures do the talking yeah.

saturday was kbox with the vjco peeps. i think we always return to our childhood when we meet up. yes we spent a grand total of 3hours at the arcade and about 5 bucks each. we probably looked like completely idiots, but hell, who cares? it was FUN. HAHA. when was the last time you shot hoops in a dress eh?

a dress because i had a dinner after that. obviously because i never wear dresses.

me and mol reached slightly earlier to help with the food. heh heh, me and eric had wanted to reach at two plus, but who has the concept of time, really?

huimin my oldest pal. have known her since primary one. WHOA. has it really been that long?

before dinner while we lounged around jiayin's living room number 1 and had a karaoke session. once again, JIAYIN'S HOUSE ROCKS!

with jiayi and peishan.

yuexin!
yummy finger food.
after dinner it was another round of karaoke followed by silly card games where we practically yelled the house down. heh heh. AND MJ WAS LIKE CLAWING AT EVERYBODY!!

then what else could we do but cam whore? :)

jieying!4E and Group B peeps :D

the long-time-never-see vincent!

HAHA DUMB AS HELL!!

peishan!

ah li! victorians (and a wannabe haha!) in jiayin's 2nd living room :P

dhsco com! :D
and just because it's us, two pictures!

ok that's about it. whew i am beat.

i've been provoked. it was a combination of the gloomy weather outside, several blogs and various sappy songs that caused this entry to be written.

i'm sure you've heard of so many girls, who, after like thousand of years, are still talking about how they cannot forget this guy, everything still reminds them of him, blah blah BLAH.
i can offer you an explanation for that. no, you do not still like that guy, you just cannot accept the fact that it's not meant to be, and you're still clinging on to that last bit of hope that, maybe, one day things would work out.
sorry, it will not happen (because most of the time the guy you like is actually a bastard :)) and you're just making a pathetic mess and fool of yourself.
i have a friend who is like this. he/she is still hanging on to this girl/guy despite the fact that they've already broken up like 3 years ago and the girl/guy is already attached.

i know i'm over this whole rubbish thing already. but that does not mean i'm not prone to bouts of irrational anger sometimes.
it does not mean that i'll not have the childish mentality that i want to SHOW you how it's your own loss,
don't think i do not know what you've said before of me. i vowed that i'd make you regret and take back what you've said, and i guess i can safely say that you've at least backed on your words.

i don't think i'll ever have the chance to throw everything back into your face, but til then, i'll not taint my blog with mentionings of you ever again.

because i'm feeling mean today

aiyo i hate the rain larh! want to go out also so mafan. so i stayed at home today nor, continued dl-ding more episodes of whoseline.. (oops. did i say that? sorry i meant -insert random name of sappy korean/taiwanese idol drama-) budden the website made me damn pekchek larh. chui alr. want to connect also cannot connect, kip telling me dunno-wat must wait another 8hrs! chui. made me so irritated the whole day lor. so i just watch Wu Zhong Xian on youtube. then jiu watch PSS at 8! today is fan1 shen1 sai4, exciting larh, eeyer sheila sing that song not nice one, dun like her. i hope dawn gets in! she's so chio and lihai!

no really, i just cannot resist when you're going-on-20 and you type like that, you know.

hehe. okay lah, i'm just kidding around. lack of better things to type about :)
and no, i don't have anything against sappy korean/taiwanese idol drama (i actually liked devil by my side remember?) i don't watch wu zhong xian on youtube, and no, not project superstar either. nothing against them! i'm just too lazy and there are no goodlooking guys to captivate me anyway. heehee.
and i don't actually know how well this dawn sings, but since she was from dunman and vj, can support la.

heh heh. that was fun. i should do that again some other day.

i haven't been updating because you know, there's really a limit to how much you can complain about boredom before you get bored complaining about boredom.

well anyway the days have been spent lazing around as usual, downloading lots of episodes of the drew carey show, watching lots of episodes of it, the late late show with craig ferguson (simply, simply hilarious. he's my new hero! yes william you have good taste), friends, whoseline . . . . . . you get the idea. (man, i've become so angmoh-fied over the holidays, i need some taiwanese/korean idol drama, pronto! HAHAHA. i am only kidding.)

luckily before i completely turned into a couch potato, i got to meet up with liren and poh on sunday for some kbox and today with seah for our usual gossip/bitching/coffee/shopping session. both were fun fun fun because nice poh paid for all of us (thank you! now please take care of your liver can. stop chionging so much!) and silly seah cooked up a very drama, Channel 8-style, cliched love story for me. WAHAHAHAHA. so freaking hilarious and it nearly made me choke. and we found out that WE ACTUALLY WENT TO THE SAME KINDERGARTEN AND WERE JUST TWO CLASSES AWAY FROM EACH OTHER.
it all started when we were wandering through the toy section of metro, relieving our childhood memories of barbie dolls and lego. i then started talking about how much i loved my kindergarten's playroom because they had this room-like space under a staircase where they had life size kitchen sets, beds and everything.
seah: "yeah mine too! then at the top of the staircase was this area where there was a library of books..."
me: "omg, mine also!! OMG which kindergarten did you go to? fengshan??"
seah: "yea! at bedok.."
me: "!!"
seah: ".. at block 135??"
me: "!!!!! SAME!!"
seah: "!!!!!"

hahahahhaha. so funny. we were nearly kindergarten classmates!

it was a lovely afternoon. just imagine being in starbucks with the wafting aroma of freshly brewed coffee, the strains of christmas carols in the background, snuggled in a warm comfy armchair next to the window with the rain outside.
this is life. i will complain no more about holidays now that they are hurtling by.

watch this hor. hilarious.
craig ferguson disses M.Night.Shyamalan and his movie Signs. heh. it's only a minute plus anyway.

i. am. so. bored. at. home.

i need to go out soon before i go crazy.

people never seem to stop complaining don't they?
during exams we complained and willed the holidays to come quickly
now that the holidays are here, we complain that we are bored.

anyway i found a website where i can download full episodes of The Drew Carey Show. YIPPEE!

only problem is that the download is sickeningly slow and there's a limit to how many episodes you can download in a day.

oh well. beggars cant be choosers.

planning the timetable for next year is giving me a huge headache.

yeah i should probably be grateful that we needn't bid for modules like NUS, but from next year onwards we have to actually fight for them on a first-come-first-serve basis. damn. i rather bid lah!

anyway it's annoying me because i am going to change all the slots for my modules so my friend has company -________-, and i cannot do so for all because there are no slots for some of them, and it's simply not interchangeable with my original timetable. and if i do manage to change, it would mean i have no free days because my elective (if i do get it, and if i don't, i would have to take it during the special term) falls on the only free day.

wa lau eh.

whatever. i'll just wait til the add/drop period to worry.

oh and anyway while looking through the list of electives, i realised a sudden desire to take spanish! hahaha!
i've always wanted to go to spain since the i-love-real-madrid-and-raul days, and somehow spanish just comes across as such a sexyyyyyyy language yes? -grins- oh and of course the fact that jeff davis speaks spanish helps too. heehee.
well! we shall see. maybe in year 3 or something. :)

there was once during OB class we were discussing whether we would jump at the opportunity to work overseas should we ever have the chance to do so, and i could distinctly remember that i was one of those who would rather not. always had the i-don't-like-to-adapt mentality.
but for some reason, i've been having urges to go overseas. i don't know if this actually stretches to having to live in that particular country, but i do know that i want to travel.
i think looking at the pictures of the blogs of people who are now studying overseas is affecting me slightly. i am so envious!
i want to go to spain!
paris!
LONDON! man, it seems like SUCH a beautiful place.
oh and NEW YORK! L.A! yes definitely L.A

well. i don't know where these thoughts come from. strange thoughts come to you when you have too much time at home with nothing better to do.

anyway i cannot bring myself to watch another episode of the jerry springer show.
i feel slightly sick after watching it.

i can't believe the amount of rubbish on youtube i'm watching nowadays.

after clearing almost all of the whoseline clips, i watched ANTM right from cycle 1.
and today i continued with The Drew Carey Show, which was actually quite a hoot and cannot be considered rubbish.
and then, i reached the epitome of US trash tv. The Jerry Springer Show ( -wasting technology since 1991. an understatement i say!), which basically is a talkshow (ha!) where people air their dirty laundry (infidelity, incest, racism, ANY TRASH you can think of) in front of a live studio audience, diss and cuss at each other while the audience eggs them on, get into fights among themselves and sometimes with the audience, and yeah, throw things at each other.

it makes you cringe, this show. but it's freaking hilarious so i'm going to continue watching it.

it's amazing how people can act like total hillbillies and get away with it.
it makes you wonder, are these people really that shameless, or do they just want their 15mins of fame?

jeez.
well i'm going back to watch the episode on high school transsexuals. YES I TOLD YOU, IT'S COMPLETE AND UTTER TRASH. and i have nothing better to do, so i'll entertain myself with US trash tv.
hahahaha.

-continued-
good god.
i just finished the first part of the show and it featured this hooker who was once a guy, and now wants to tell her(his?) clueless boyfriend that she is actually a guy (still partly a guy, if you catch my drift.) and the reason why she wants to tell him is because they were high school classmates.

oh my god.
the boyfriend is about to find out that his good guy friend in high school is now his girlfriend.

oh man. if you're having a crappy day, do watch the jerry springer show. you'd then feel alot better about your life then.

-continued part 2-

HAHA this is so funny. no wonder the whoseline cast always make fun of these people.
wahahhaha. that hillbilly slang is killing me
(haha. sorry you'd only get this if you watch whoseline)

-continued part 3-

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. a member of the audience just asked this heavily tattoo-ed guest (who cheated on his girlfriend with her friend who is still together with her boyfriend (oh trust me, this is commonplace on this show.)) whether he realised that the tattoo artist just tattoo-ed HILLBILLY all over him.
omg this is the best line i've heard all night.

anyway i've been traumatised by the show.
these people have no morals whatsoever.

there's just something about christmas that makes me all warm and fuzzy inside, despite the fact that my family doesn't even celebrate it save for the christmas party that my relatives throw every year.
and where better to soak in some of that christmas atmosphere than at orchard road?

yes even the christmas fairs make me happy :)

had dinner with mol and mandy on friday night and with mol and liren yesterday. just hanging out, talking rubbish (and with me dozing as the guys talked about WHAT ELSE? haha)

i'm leading such a fulfiling life. i am now embarking on watching america's next top model right from the very start. and re-watching all the whoseline vids.

i woke up feeling utterly miserable.
first thing was my severely blocked nose, then for some reason my right arm was hurting like crazy.
and then i started having coughing fits. and i couldnt have my medicine because i haven't had breakfast, which i cannot have because there's only stuff like peanut butter and i bloody well can't eat that!
aiyo.
the weather was great for sleeping in but i couldnt do that either because i was coughing every 5 mins. (man, my lungs are starting to hurt)

AND THEN. all my friends are going overseas/are overseas/in army/dunno-what-else-lah. so for the next week i'm going to be stuck at home. :( oh ya. and i'm coughing, which means no kbox.
watching endless hours of youtube seems pretty enticing but trust me, after watching the whole season of america's next top model the other day, i immediately had a raging headache.

damn i am whiny this morning.

i'm officially sick again. no kbox for the time being please.
i attribute all of this to the possibly 27th day in a row i have not slept before 1am. and perhaps the 9th day not before 3am.

just got home from an afternoon at jj's house with the vj jrs and seah and the xbox. stupid mindless fun. hehheh

yesterday was the day most of the nus peeps end their exams (finally!). so we headed over to vivocity for some aimless walking. well eventually we ended up at starbucks 'cos we're all just lazy bums who cant be bothered to walk around and shop. :)

yay my nus friends! :)

i cannot keep a straight face.

william shows off the prowess of his motorola razr. -_______-

and so you see the distinct difference between the quality of the photos taken by lyd's and my camera.

(william n jj: "yay good quality so big smiles")

"this one sucks. don't smile" (no lah. they didnt actually say it)

unbelievable. my hair looks like crap again just after 6 weeks.

dinner at dhoby ghaut. then we got childish and went to the arcade. man, i LOVE watching those experienced players on House of the Dead

no sorry, you friend ah?

it was fun. :) unfortunately stupid william is going army soon. WHO CAN I IRRITATE NOW?? hahaha.
