well well, once again we've come to that point of the year where useless resolutions are made. that is why i don't do resolutions; because i know i can't keep 'em, so what's the point?
but what i'd do is what i like to do best: ramble on in a long post, thanking everyone who has made a difference to the year 2007 :) i'm starting to think that perhaps xmas cards are really a good idea, made me feel so happy when i receive them! but til next year, my thanks would come from this post. haha. too many people to thanks, too little time

alright. 2007.
comparing it with 2006, definitely a much better year. sure there are THE couple of incidents that would definitely outrank any of those in 2006 in terms of horrid-ness, but i still can safely say as a whole, i was much, much happier this year :) as for unpleasant times, well, actually i'm pretty thankful for them because i'd like to think i'm a smarter person now who's more realistic about matters of the heart. okay lar, i'm still quite stupid sometimes, but i'm improving! hehe. i have people constantly reminding me not to do stupid things alright? :)

i guess i was much happier because for one, i have awesome friends that i got to meet up so much more often! especially for the 2nd half of the year, where i seemed to have too damn much time on my hands, and when all the army boys seemed to be booking out every other day. haha. and obviously, results-wise, i'm much more pleased (but of course, having started out on virtually no expectations, that's to be expected. heh) and extremely motivated. next semester, maybe i'd try to poke at the 4.5 mark for the exams. -deadpans- HAHA. sorry. JOKE.
the second year into nbs, first year into marketing. i love what i'm studying, but i'm still not performing very well in my core modules, and next semester there are going to be 3 of 'em. so it's make or break time :)

and yes, how would i have been able to pass the nasty times in 2007 without said awesome friends? :) the ones who listened to me patiently, who gave me sound advice, who scolded me when necessary -looks pointedly at Good Friend- , who accompanied me when i needed them, who, well, just were there! I LOVE YOU ALL!

study group peeps! :)
such an enormous part of my life. in fact, i think we met up at least once every single week during these holidays! (for the past two weeks, we've been to jiayin's house THRICE. hahaha) the people whose company i've grown so accustomed to, that now it's going to feel weird not seeing them too often in school!
the people who'd never fail to cheer me up, the outings which i'd definitely make time for, even the impromptu supper outings, even when i have a ton of work waiting for me. :) yx and hz, for lunches after 214 on tuesdays, jyn for driving us to last minute outings, huimin PLEASE APPEAR MORE OFTEN! and chua 少爷 for all the spur of the moment meetups where you and yx entertain the heck out of me. haha. and eric lar, always entertaining.
a special thanks to miss foo for listening especially much during those traumatic months, and to both you and zhi for those extremely-necessary-and-hilarious comments about certain people in a certain class of yours! :)

CANT WAIT FOR THE HONGKONG TRIP!

my Good Friend! hahahaha, this picture makes me want to laugh until i DIE. eh well, Good Friend derek would like you all to know that he looks like shit in pictures, but he actually looks fine in person, hence the mosaic-ed face. (but seriously i have the exact same picture in an august post. hahaha)
definitely one of the best new things that came out of studying in NBS. (WAH 感动not??) but honestly, he's just about one of the rare few people who would indulge in my annoying repetitive whines about the same old things, and he's the only guy who can ask me to "shut the fark up" and tell me i'm "a farking idiot" and i won't be pissed. HAHA. because i know 都是出自一番大哥的好意. and once again, i'd like to tell my 大哥how annoying it is that he's not a girl because then i'd get to be a bridesmaid at his wedding! TOO BAD, YOU ARE STILL GOING TO INVITE ME. heh.

vjco! good ol' seah and william can ALWAYS be counted on for last minute slacking sessions at Cafe Cartel. hahaha. -glares at jj and leed- and even though actually there exists a generation gap, as how william always like to say (despite the fact that they're only one year younger -.-) we still can happily spend a whole afternoon doing nothing but talking rot. :) and of course miss seah, just about one of the most reliable people around, whether it's for gossip or good advice. hey, we survived one of the weirdest outings ever together, alright?! hahaha. (poor seah still suffering from the aftermath HAHA) :) we still need to go iceskating and JBP together!!

my ktv boys! we're always up for a kbox session, whether it's at liren's house or anywhere else. always a whale of time when with them, and i love how candidly honest they are with me regarding loads of things. NOTHING IS CENSORED! definitely a good source to understand the complex male brain. ;)heehee. sianghan please appear more often can! and bring jamie!!

and old friends that i found back! so great that me ber and hf found a shared love for clubbing (oh alright, i don't quite like going too often because i find i too much of a chore), and also good ol' wil my best phone buddy! hours and hours of gossip.. where to find someone so willing to waste time on the phone with me?? :) here's to more clubbing and ktv outings!

my marketing girls! so glad to have found them in marketing, when i initially thought marketing was such an unpopular choice. pity not all of us could be in the same classes for next semester, but well, there's always year 3! and shuxian! hahaha we should take more electives together so we can get more As together yeah? :)

dhsco com :) but actually the same few of us have been meeting up so regularly that i've already quite lost the notion of it being any sort of com outing. in fact, the lines between all the groups have already been blurred (like how mj said, he cannot remember which group outing it is already when i'm there; vjco, dhsco, study group?? hahahah) but obviously, always nice to meet up with them!

and all of the other people that i couldn't quite fit into any groups. hahaha.

the Biatch himself. hahaha. sure we annoy each other sometimes, but tough to find a biatch like mr TBX! just as narcissistic, just as bitchy, with a shared love of taking unglam photos and chilling out at taitai places! here's to a year more of gossip and Dempsey trips! :)
(yes i realise you belong to dhsco com group, but special mention to you lar!)

dee! fellow online shopping and gossip addict ;) argh we haven't got the chance to meet up this hols!! please come crash nbs soon!! thanks for all the very sound advice you've given, and of course thanks for being the source of bitchy gossip from the world of Law. hahah.

and to many many others whom i can't remember right now. (i've been at this entry for the past 2 days can! i don't have the mental energy to sit down and type for so long!)
to all the people who have helped shape 2007 to be the awesome year it was, thank you :) may 2008 be more of a blessed year for all of you.
i have so many wonderful friends. there's really nothing more i can ask for :)

huizhi's song!

such a sad song.

i'm finally starting on 我的野蛮奶奶 and already i'm completely charmed by bosco wong!! :)

i'm considering something which i've never ever done in my life.
it is obviously something stupid.
it's something which i've considered before, but never before coming so close to actually carrying it out.

i've got nothing to lose.
i am perfectly clear of the consequences.
i know there's not going to be a good ending.
so,
now i just need all of you to convince me that it's a bad idea.
or not.
it may be the break that i've been yearning for all these while. the break that i thought i had, and the one i lost.
and then maybe i'd be able to start 2008 off on a good note :)

i'll be sleeping on it. i need your input, people :)

okay ntu peeps, now we all know. when they say results would be out on the 28th of december, they mean it literally. as in 12am 28th december.

haha i was just joking to yuexin when i said she could start checking results after midnight, so i got a complete shock when she came to tell me at about 12.15 that the results were out already.
well, so it was another round of cold-sweating and hysterical typing on msn as the system hanged and we all waited for our results to pop out with bated breath. hahaha.

i'll just like to say, it's an excellent idea to take many electives, because my two electives totally saved my ass and pulled up my GPA. and i guess many people must have S/U-ed Emotions, because for even that damn paper i miraculously secured an A. HAHAHA. UNBELIEVABLE. as for TCM... I LOVE YOU LOADS. :):) TAKE TCM AS AN ELECTIVE, PEOPLE. IT ROCKS. heehee.

well even though i'm thoroughly pleased with my overall results, i'm still just a tad disappointed with Consumer Behaviour and Comm Mgmt. B+ is really just, well, NOT GOOD enough for them. but oh what to do? like what i told yuexin, the tutor doesn't appreciate us lar. we are actually damn good speakers. ;) heh. as for CB, who ask it to be closed book? WHERE GOT MARKETING MODULES CLOSE BOOK ONE I ASK YOU?
and research methods. wahahhaha. love it loads too. apparently the fact that it revolved around stats and SPSS and whatnots did not cause me to fall into the same shithole that was Stats. and very apparently, the fact that i went to a grand total of two lectures throughout the semester did not seem to matter. what does this show? STUDY ON YOUR OWN LAR.

okay lar. i AM JUST VERY THANKFUL AND HAPPY. this will spur me on to work harder next semester :)

and yes, i feel especially happy because, well, given the state of mind i was in for almost half the semester, whereby i seemed to be just going through the motions of going to school, skipping lectures, going home, neglecting every single module to watch House, doing only the bare minimum to keep up with work. -shakes head- and then, even after getting over the whole fiasco, i still could not get into the mood for work at all, and i'm not sure whether i can attribute this to my own fault, or to the fact that marketing just didn't seem to give me a whole lot to do.

sure, i honestly slacked my way through this semester and got much better results than the previous two semesters, but i'm not going to put myself through such risk again. i was blessed this time round, but also at the same time, given a wakeup call that i actually do have the potential to do so much better. and now that i'm finally in the range for 2nd upper, i've really got to put in much more effort to maintain that comfortably. :)

this is going to be a very long xmas blog entry and it's going to be choked full of pictures. :)

let's recall:
xmas eve 2004: i had to perform at bleeding CCO concert. unbelievable alright? both xmas eve AND xmas!
xmas eve 2005: i had to go back for bleeding CCO general meeting. hahaha.
xmas eve 2006: i was cooped at home, but it wasn't too bad because i had my favourite foods and my all time favourite movie Love Actually was on tv.

xmas eve 2007:
with jiayin, mr chua and chinyong!

it was a rather last minute thing, with all of us being people with nobody to date :( so we decided to hang around jiayin's house and have a quiet xmas eve of our own.
and it i'm being quite literal when i said we rotted; we were all sprawled across the sofas watching tv, until around 1130 when mj decided to drive out to mount faber to join in on the xmas countdown. haha most unfortunately everyone else seemed to have to same idea and we were jammed at somewhere uphill of mt. faber at 12 midnight.

after that it was supper at Hong Kong Cafe at siglap.

despite going to bed at almost 4, i had to wake up at 9+ to get to jiayin's house to help with the preparations for the party.

the food preparation in progress. i have no idea what yuexin is doing. hahahaa.

the food and dessert. beautiful artsy pics courtesy of jieying and huimin :)

we were taking photos the entire night! through dinner, through dessert, through every single thing else that we were doing.

the girls.

the boys. (aiyo mj, you look so pretty here. HAHA)

皇上,老佛爷,阁阁, and the leave-me-out-of-all-the-politics-县官夫人. hahahaha. (anyway my chinese really cannot make it now. so any typos don't fault me. i just type in the hanyu pinyin and the system generates whatever combination that makes sense. haha)

mr chua!

only mollie would oblige taking ugly photos with me. hahaha.

DESSERT. we had way more dessert than normal food. :P
kudos to mol and jyn for the yummy tiramisu and the pudding which they made from scratch!
kudos to yuexin's dad's log cake and huimin's mom's cupcakes!
and the tons and tons of famous amos cookies.

group B!!

eric and jit playing with jiayin's photo. HAHAHA.

i like this photo!!

and this too :)

the other group photos and miscellaneous.

DHSCO COM!! we have come a long long way :) 5 years and counting.

and for the finale
xmas party photo 2006.

xmas party 2007 :):)

and after the others headed home just around before midnight, the study group girls had our very first sleepover together. although it started off on a slow note where nobody knew what to do to pass the time, eventually we found our own entertainment ;) it was just HILARIOUS and we've all sworn to keep it a secret within ourselves. heh heh.
(but hz was not in 状况again and nearly told the whole world on jiayin's facebook wall. hahahaha)
for the next couple of hours we were all just drifting in and out of sleep lying on the floor of the study room, gossiping about just about anything we could think of to keep ourselves awake, before we all gave up and ordered mac breakfast.
that lasted til about 7am where we finally all concussed and slept til about 12.
one lame movie and a leftovers-lunch later, we finally all headed home :)

for some reason, the party this time round seemed much cosier than the one last year, despite the fact that there were more people. and it was a lot louder, what with the karaoke-ing, mahjong-ing and bridge-ing all going on simultaneously. but there was something distinct in the atmosphere; it was a feeling of warmth and happiness, not just from the christmas mood. you probably could say it was from the culmination of the years of friendship that we all shared :)

many of us have been friends for so long! me and huimin for over 12 years! mol and jiayin around 13 years? most of us having known each other for at least 5-6 years, we've all become so comfortable around one another. and once again, i cannot say how thankful i am that i chose to go to dunman and was blessed with such a wonderful group of friends that i'm sure would continue to remain friends in the decades to come. :) (in fact, just now halfway through the Loreal discussion, me yuexin and hz were discussing who would be bridesmaids for jiayin's wedding. hahahahaha)

it's all these little things that let you know, you have these friends for life :)

so i'll just end off with this nice little quote that yuexin found:

一些伴着我们长大的事物,即使再久,想起来还会有“味道”。不是特别去记得,而是因为已经成为自己的一部分,所以忘不了

recently i caught a glimpse of the side of myself which i haven't seen surfacing for quite awhile.

and luckily i woke up today and caught hold of myself before i become that sniveling fool again.

what rubbish. that side is going right back in and locked up.
i've been happy for too long :) i will not let myself screw myself up again.
i've had my fun. back to what i should be.

wa lau. both yuexin and mingjie gave me heart attack today.

太过分了!!!!!!!! don't think you all can do funny things on my tagboard and wall and get away with it ah!!

yuexin ah yuexin. very diu lian okay. i had to delete your tag. -shakes head- first time i did this to any one of you!!

anyway. lyrics to Rihanna's Hate That I Love You. just to prove to miss foo that my msn nick is indeed a song (while she insists that i'm referring to an actual person)

That's much I love you
That's how much I need you
And I can’t stand ya
Must everything you do make me wanna smile
Can I not like you for awhile

You know exactly what to do
So that I can’t stay mad at you
For too long, that’s wrong

And you completely know the power that you have
The only one that makes me laugh

Said it’s not fair how you take advantage of the fact that
I love you beyond a reason why
And it just ain’t right

One of these days maybe your magic won’t affect me
But no one in this world knows me the way you know me
So you’ll probably always have a spell on me

And I hate how much I love you boy
I can’t stand how much I need you
And I hate how much I love you boy
But I just can’t let you go
And I hate that I love you so

nice song alright? :)

i love back to school shopping trips. you make a list of things you want to buy, and then when you finally get them.. ahh. satisfaction :)

and TM and CS are really getting better and better. i reckon i can get every single thing i need there. like i told seah, i buy my clothes online, my shorts at pushcarts (HAHA. yes. the pushcart near seah's house sells the same shorts as those at bugis street at even cheaper prices!), my shoes and belts at CS, and other misc. stuff at TM. WHO NEEDS TO TRAVEL TO TOWN?? :)
original plan was to rot at TM with the vjco people. however after lunch at cartel and a spot of shopping, we decided to head over to my house for mahjong. (since the set was still with me after yesterday's game)

the view from seah's camera as it sits behind her tiles. hahaha.

and then we started doing this.
oh before i continue, this was how yesterday's last game ended.

my hua okay! my first qing yi se ever :)
and in the midst of all the games, we started on the dicussion about why kes is so unhealthily tanned. HAHAHA.

yes. my arm for better contrast. HAHAHAHA this pictures makes me crack up like mad. but do take into consideration the lighting and poor resolution of my camera phone.

so anyway the vjco peeps decided to imitate this.

top left clockwise: william, jj, seah, lyd. YAR LAR everyone wants to do contrast with me 'cos i'm the fairest of them all. hahaha.

night of fitful sleep.
first of all, just before i fell asleep, i had a sudden thought (much like a relevation) where i realised that two of my friends are actually rather compatible! (i shan't mention names. they will KILL ME. heehee) not just character-wise, but also their expectations for their respective romantic partners. and of course, they are definitely not lacking in chemistry ;) of course, it's premature to tell what would happen in the future, but i'd definitely love to see them get together! hahaha. it's going to be a WHALE OF A TIME for them! :)

(no really, don't ask me who. i will dio slaughter. hahaha)

and then i had a disturbing dream which left me fidgety and unhappy. unhappy because, yeah well, it's merely a dream. and i could remember so clearly that even IN the dream itself, i was telling myself "yeah right, such a thing is never going to happen"
haha. i'm such a screwup. but well, 习惯就好

and to cap it all off, i woke up to the song Sometimes When We Touch on radio, and for some reason, the song never fails to make my blood run cold immediately. i think it's not what the song is about, but more of when the song was especially significant.
-shudders-

what a day.

oh! more of our mahjong session tmr ;) i ended the game on a rather sweet note! heehee.

after so much going-ons, i can only say that girls are really damn stupid sometimes. love is indeed blind, and in some cases, also deaf and mute.

because you only see clearly when you're not involved, when you're looking on at the problems of other people. and then you can only hope that the next time round when it's your turn, you do not make the same mistakes. but there are no gurantees because yes, girls can indeed be the most brainless people when it comes to situations like these.

sometimes we honestly need a major jackass to mess us up a bit, to shake us out of our cottoncandycovered little fantasy world to realise that nobody's going to love us like ourselves, and the next jerk who dares to treat us badly should be kicked out, pronto.

i can't vouch for myself, but luckily i have a constant reminder in the form of Good Friend who once told me he'd "slap me awake" should i dare to put myself through such rubbish again. HAHA.

i don't want to be biased towards anybody. i just want my friends to be happy, and treated the way they should be - PROPERLY.

nothing new, just my usual round of updates (necessary no thanks to my short term memory. i SWEAR i totally FORGOT what i did on monday until about 5 mins ago.)

monday: last minute date with yuexin and the 少爷 himself. dinner at PS cartel followed by a stroll down orchard road. original plan to watch The Warlords went down the drain because i, ahem, wasn't too enthusiastic about war movies in general. heehee. as always, hilarious conversations and a nice walk through the christmas lights made the monday blues go away!

tuesday: well.. what can i say about this outing, except that seah and i went to it complaining all the way about it being the weirdest outing that we would ever be going to.
alright, to be fair, it didn't turn out so bad in the end. in fact, the one bad thing turned out to NOT be the company, but instead the movie that we watch. (note to all underage people: shaw house does not check your ICs. heehee)

yes, don't bother wasting your money, or in any case, even your time watching Good Luck Chuck online or what. it's crude, offensive (and not in a funny way) and there were about 2 funny bits in the whole damn show and 8 days was probably being kind when they gave it 1/5 stars. i suggest that if you want to watch a show like this and is actually smart and funny, go spend the 7 bucks on your internet bill and download Sex and the City instead.
complete pile of bullshit.

wednesday: lunch with yuexin and 少爷 AGAIN at his workplace, (we are too nice!) followed by mahjong with wil. and let's just say i both won and lost spectacularly, but since my losses > wins, i lost spectacularly in the end. it was very tragic, and very heartbreaking you know, when you're ting-pai-ing for a 平湖 and then horrible yuexin goes ahead and wins with her 臭平湖 :(:( hahaha.

i realised my memory is getting from bad to worse lately.
i take AGES to recall what the heck i was doing just a couple of days ago.
thank heavens for this blog which will serve as a useful reminder (and of course, sometimes as written evidence. hahaha)

thursday.
hauled myself back to school for subject registration because i'm a compete chicken who trusts nothing but the school computer system to get my modules for me. SERIOUSLY hate this time of the year where not only we have to plan our own timetable (where invariably, the school will just refuse to open slots for specific modules on days where you have lessons for other modules, so you end up with a screwed-up timetable whereby wednesdays you only go school for two hours in the morning) but also scared ourselves to death on the day of subject registration itself.

you will not believe the tense atmosphere as the clock ticks towards 1.30pm in the FAL. the unbelievable thing being, it's still possible to feel the tension when the FAL is probably only about 1/20 filled. MADNESS.

those who haven't tried doing sub reg in FAL should try it next semester; the simultaneous furious clicking of the mouse at 1.29pm, the collective gasp in anticipation as the system hangs at 1.30pm thanks to the hundreds of people accessing the system at the exact same moment, and the whoops of joy/cries of despair (depending on how fast your clicking is) as people find out whether they have gotten the slots they wanted. NOT FUN HOR. heart attack.

friday.
kbox with the TFWA peeps :) haha i just realised we're all of different ages!

followed by dinner with the 2J people at Fish and Co. at the glasshouse. wow it has been AGES since we all met up!

dinner followed by drinks at a nice little pub at SMU. (original plan was to go MoS with wil, hf and ber but unfortunately i sprained my toe and i couldn't even walk properly, much less club :() and can i just mention how awesome the SMU facilities are? seriously, they have EVERYTHING. so does NUS. ntu? made such a big hoo-hah when 7-11 was opened. -.-

it was a fairly pleasant outing. sure, we're just as clique-y as always, but oh what the heck. it's been nice seeing everyone again :)

and today was the day which i said 就当作没发生过 hahaha. so yeah! nothing happened, except that me, yuexin, zhi and her brother went wandering around orchard, looking for travel books, shopping at far east, and then chiong-ed home for the 7pm awards show. HAHAHA. ;)

and anyway me yx hz and mj just had the FUNNIEST conversation. i think we were all laughing at our respective computers. wahahhahaa. i wish i could paste the entire thing here, but i would probably get slaughtered by them :(
aiya mj tonight sleeping happily lah, so many people fighting over him. hahahahaha.

as tempting as it may seem, sadly tuesdays would probably kill me.

so this is what we came up in the end:

sigh. after a year of not having monday blues. a year of being able to go out on outings on sunday nights without having to worry about rushing home to rest for monday lessons :( ah well. for the good of our presentations anyway! :)
