i can never fathom why some people, who seem to have almost everything in their lives, still like to complain about the unnecessary little things. like for example, when they have already secured a job, and they still wanna complain that the 1) pay is too low and 2) they're too good for the job. oh and another truly appalling example would be complaining that their boyfriends are too good to them.

i've got this much to say to these ungrateful whiney little bastards:

SHUT THE EFF UP.

these people should have a taste of what it's like on the other side.

sometimes i feel so. out of it.
can't wait to get out of singapore. away from the horrendous weather and away from worries. just three weeks of fun with my friends.
(on a related note, i will never ever understand why people love to come to singapore so much. the weather is the absolute pits. i swear i nearly got scorched to death the other day i went to get lunch. and when the sun is busy sizzling our skin, the clouds, or whatever that makes the water vapour, bless all of us with a thin film of sweat that refuses to evaporate. WHY. WHY DO PEOPLE LIKE TO COME HERE. maybe i should really spend a year in gloomy-london-like weather before i will truly appreciate the sunlight. because right now, i absolutely loathe it. and that's why when i go on vacation i make damn sure that i'm going somewhere with weather that i can never get here)

one month more til i'm away from all the crap. can't wait

last thurs was the concert for percussion and i have to admit i do kinda miss the class because well, it's been so long since i've performed for anything (my own fault, really) and i do love that one song because it reminds me of those wonderful days back in MEP.

mon night dinner

anyway i got my VS sweaters already and i cant tell you how much i love 'em :)

oh. lovely day y'all

hahahahah

oh Man U, can you continue sucking for the rest of the season? hahahaha.

alright im truly sorry to all my friends who are Man U fans!! :P but well, really can't stand Man U!

anywho i had a most entertaining friday night supper with the girls and jo. we went all the way to geylang just to look at the prostitutes at those particular lorongs and jo drove by especially slowly HAHAHA. at one point he even turned the car into this incredibly seedy motel right opposite the lane where there were like 50 girls milling around and it was actually unnerving to see all of them start staring at us. hahaha. okay that itself took like 45 minutes and then we drove all the way back to simpang for fries and prata.

today i postponed my tuition because i was way too tired and for the rest of the day, well, pretty much did nothing. i really have to start doing my 324 reports. and i've completely forgotten about my fyp as well. which is yeah, still not handed in. don't ask.

oh and then it rained (gosh my life is really boring) and i took pictures of the sky because it was all orangey and lovely.

oh yeah there was a rainbow too

last tues i watched My Bloody Valentine in 3d with seah and william and well, it was hilarious. because for about 3/4 of the show, i was hiding behind my cardigan and screaming whenever i took a peek at the screen and something jumped out. the 3d effects were incredibly real and it was worth every single penny to see jensen ackles on the big screen, all crazy and handsome. hahahha. next up, friday the 13th for jared padalecki! woohoo it's supernatural boys month!

and somebody please kill me before i buy any more stuff from VS. AH!!!!

in my defense, the first one is dirt cheap and they're both essential. HAHA.

i had really better stop my bad habit of sleeping late when i have work the next day because today was absolutely and completely torturous. i had to fight to stay awake and it didn't help that the work wasn't too exciting today. when i'm sleepy, my brain doesn't think and i'm also plenty much irritable. haha.

okay so right now, i'm going to take a hot shower, make myself a nice cup of oatmeal, watch some rubbish on youtube, and then go to sleep before midnight.

good night and tgif!
yay i'm having lunch with chioness tmr again! i sense massive amounts of bitchin'! :)

if only life could only revolve around just shopping.
and we didnt have to deal with those fairweather friends. with their lying ways and atrocious attitude.

why do we tolerate this people time and time again?
do this people think they can treat us this way and get away with it?

i suppose they really do think that way.
well then that's just really hilarious.
because some of these people had better either buck up, or just get the hell out of our lives.

how people change in the course of just one year. i look back and i feel pathetic and sorry that i ever thought that all of us could be real friends.
well apparently, people migrate once they find greener pastures

maybe it's time for us to do so too.

the crap that comes out of wall street..

http://www.straitstimes.com/Breaking%2BNews/Money/Story/STIStory_349396.html

MADOFF'S thousands of victims included individuals, trusts, pension funds, hedge funds and nonprofit organisations. The scheme wiped out people's life savings, ruined charities and foundations, and apparently pushed at least two investors to commit suicide.

Investors big and small were swindled, from Florida retirees to celebrities such as Steven Spielberg, actor Kevin Bacon and Hall of Fame pitcher Sandy Koufax. Many of Madoff's victims were Jews and Jewish charities, which trusted him because he is Jewish. Those cheated included Nobel Peace Prize winner and Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel.

In court Thursday, Madoff - a dapper figure, dressed in a charcoal-gray suit, with swept-back, wavy gray hair - said he began the scheme during the last recession, when 'I felt compelled to satisfy my clients' expectations, at any cost.' He did not put his investors' money into the market, as he claimed. Instead, it was a Ponzi scheme, or a pyramid, in which early investors are paid off with money taken in from later ones.

'When I began the Ponzi scheme I believed it would end shortly and I would be able to extricate myself and my clients from the scheme,' he said. 'However, this proved difficult, and ultimately impossible, and as the years went by I realized that my arrest and this day would inevitably come.' In Washington, White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said: 'The president is glad that swift justice will happen.' Mr Gibbs said the Obama administration will do everything possible to ensure strict enforcement of securities regulations 'and hope that through those actions that that kind of greed and irresponsibility and that kind of criminal activity never happens again.' Before the court hearing, helicopters circled above the courthouse, and federal officers with automatic weapons stood outside. Investors signed in before entering the courtroom.

The scandal turned a well-respected investment professional - Madoff was once chairman of the Nasdaq exchange - into a symbol of Wall Street greed amid the economic meltdown. The public fury toward him was so great that he was known to wear a bulletproof vest to court.

Afterward, Burt Ross, a lawyer from Englewood, New Jersey, who lost US$5 million in Madoff's swindle, said: 'It's a little bit like seeing the devil.'

jon stewart: "madoff's victims include nobel laureate and Holocaust survivor elie wiesel and as well as kevin bacon. so if madoff has accomplished nothing else, he has now connected kevin bacon to hitler, in only two degrees"

AND. i cannot tell you HOW SHIOK THIS IS

LIVERPOOL THRASH UTD. HAHAHAHHAHAHA. IT WAS A MASSACRE. HAHAHAHA.

okay i didn't watch the match. and i don't have a special liking for liverpool. but i've said it before and i'll say it again, i'll support whoever plays against utd, and if they win, i'm a fan. HAHAHHA.

i saw this on the nbs group and whoa! so cool!

Hey adventurous people from NBS!

We are two students from THM planning on a grad trip to Central Asia and the Empire of the Stans, namely, Kazakhstan + Kyrgyzstan + Uzbikestan + Tajikistan.

Visa-wise, we would require a letter of invitation from someone in the country so that we can visit. However, we have contacts in the region so this is a RARE chance to visit Central Asia. You can never get the chance if you do not know anybody there!

Optimal number of travel mates: 4-6
Estimated travel dates (tentative): 11th May for roughly 3-4 weeks.
Estimated expenses (tentative): $3,500-$4,000 SGD

On contrary to popular believe that this region is highly volatile and unstable, it is actually safe, stable and scenically spectacular.

I have posted details in the link below. Please feel free to join us if you are interested. Thanks! :)

okay in all honesty i wasn't annoyed at all, but as i mulled it over on the way to work today i started to feel a tad irritated and now i think i AM rather pissed about it.

before i start ranting let me clarify that i've always had the particularly strong stand about having a job that i truly enjoy doing ie. doing something related to marketing/PR/advertising (and only in industries im interested in ie. no fertiliser/oil/govt-related companies) because i do not want to wake up when im 40 and think to myself that "f*** i've completely wasted half of my life!" and i don't know maybe this mindset is something i should revise in such bad economic times, but in all seriousness, i would gladly take up a management trainee role at DFS or loreal with meagre pay and long hours, or even an internship at saatchi&saatchi that pays like 500 a month, than to go to, say a government body doing something completely unrelated to something i've studied, and do something i truly enjoy and love.

maybe it's just me. and who knows, if the govt job pays me 3.5k to do rubbish, i may just take it up for the sake of the money. BUT only because times are bad and i honestly cannot complain with that amount of money. but if times are good, i wouldn't touch that with a ten-foot pole, even if an advertising job probably pays me 1k lesser and i probably have to work 3 hours more everyday. why? you may say "just think of the money". because i CANNOT. the money (no matter how much i need it) just isnt enough to motivate me out of bed every morning because i'd be thinking about how much i hate my effing job. so you know what? i WILL apply for the management trainee positions for DFS, loreal and unilever, and probably also the internships at saatchi and any other advertising firms i can find. yes chances are slim but at least i'm trying out for something i'm passionate about.

do you actually think i wouldn't have a job by now if times were good? really? what kind of friend are you for asking such a question? for making such a remark? what? so now you're superior because you have a job? that you, coincidentally, hate, and is by default given to you on a platter because well, if you can't even get that, you should just shoot yourself in the head and please, don't tell anyone you're from nbs. no thank you. i do not want to be like you.

can you say with a straight face that you like what you're studying? obviously not. you're in it for the money, and while there's nothing wrong with that (since probably 1/2 your cohort is doing the same thing), there IS something wrong when you yourself complain about how you'd be doing shit work for shit amount of money (which seriously, at 2.4k in such times, is a generous enough amount and you should just shut the fark up). because i don't hear my other friends in the same specialisation as you complaining like you do. sure there are occasional grumbles, but not once did they complain to the extent you do, putting your own specialisation down like it's some shit job. and well, while i cant disagree with you that it is boring but well, that's me, and i dont do numbers. but it IS your specialisation, and it's so goddamn specialised you will be stuck with it for the rest of your life so you might as well suck it up and start liking it. stop complaining about it

and let's face it, you're probably where you are today and not somewhere better because of your complete lack of PR skills. hey, at least that's one area i definitely trump over you.

and stop harping on the point about how you'll be buying cars/houses/branded bags and togs because unlike me (with oh all my idealistic views about how one should do something that he/she loves) you're willing to take the money over job satisfaction anyday and i should grow up and learn to think more like you. BECAUSE I HONESTLY DONT GIVE A FLYING FARK. all along i also got no money what? got difference meh?

and, stop stop STOP saying how marketing is so friggin' easy and anyone can do it without studying. why dont YOU come try? yes i can get away with not studying, but can YOU spin something out of nothing? can YOU make sense out of rubbish? everybody can write rubbish, but not everyone can make it sound sensible. why not YOU try getting A for GMS? i studied 2 days for it and my level of general knowledge is about 20%. wanna beat that? don't diss what you can do.

so yes, right now i may have no job. even when i eventually find one, you may be earning 1k more than me a month. and by the time when we're 40, i'll PROBABLY still be earning less than you, but at least i'll be doing something i love, while you'll still be stuck in your dead-end job complaining about it every day.

why do you scorn me for not having a job? i pity you for never having found your passion.

fyp on a saturday afternoon, this is really depressing. but never mind, this will be the last weekend spent on this darn project and i will never need to think about house brands anymore, ever!

anyway pictures from recess week! it was the first time in my three years in school that i actually had a proper recess week - ie. no work, just loads of lazing around. well i couldn't do much anyway because i was down with flu and i spent 32 bucks on medicine because i wanted to get rid of my cold real quick -_-.

but on thursday i was all better so i had ktv with my vj boys

and on friday it was ktv once more with.. alright i don't quite know how to classify them. clubbing friends? friends of junxiang? hahaha.

it was great fun with them and like i told seah, it was like "with old friends" even though you can imagine how often i see them. (or in some cases, it's "never before" HAHAHA ;)) dinner and some aimless lazing around liang court later, PLUS one WHOLE ROUND of rushing from clarke quay to vivo back to clarke quay, where we didnt manage to get in to watch My Bloody Valentine, we ended up back at dbl o, which like i said before, was the epitome of crappy clubs.

oh yes i have another tuition kid thanks to dee :) unfortunately i kinda forgot that i'd be working everyday starting april and my tuition's on wednesday afternoon. and i have ANOTHER one on saturday afternoon. probably going to end up killing myself from exhaustion. europe better be worth every penny!! (alright it probably would. hahaha)

victoria secret's clothes are sooo pretty!! sigh i want to buy all of them but they are all CRAZY expensive

and so against the advice of 8 days, i went to watch He's Just Not That Into You. and well, it was pretty bad, laughs aside. it was full of tired and old cliches and i learned nothing from it except that women are really that stupid and it does not take a movie to tell you that. the main character was so incredibly annoying and stupid i sincerely pray to the higher power that i would NEVER be like her. and really, kudos to justin long's character for yelling at her "why do you women always like to dramatize everything and twist the words that men say" and something along these lines. basically exactly what i said before. SOME PEOPLE REALLY LIKE TO THINK TOO MUCH AND MAKE MOUNTAINS OUT OF ANTHILLS. one thing i liked about it though, was that players never get happy endings.

still, its saving grace was the star-studded cast and that it was really quite funny and charming (other than said really annoying girl)

and okay this week has been pretty great! :) i'm going to start my internship @ Batey next week and even though the pay's kinda sad, it's still an extra 1000 bucks towards europe and hey, any advertising experience is a bonus for my resume!

woohoo! i'm going out for dinner with the girls!

i am convinced the school is teeming with weirdos.

sometimes i wonder why im not more like those girls who are so easily moved by insignificant gestures. in fact, i think i'm almost reaching the extent of being blasé. man i hate myself. i think i will join yuexin in her bungalow and two dogs. okay maybe i'm not really that bad but it's just that i'm psychopatic and sadomachoistic and the more something/someone is unattainable the more i want it/him. of course i'm excluding all friends/gays/attached/reallyweird-until-hes-unattainable-cuz-hes-too-weird. ok i still hate myself.

WHY CANT I BE MORE LIKE THOSE GIRLS?!?! i should learn to be more 随便。

but then again, today we concluded that all guys (excluding friends) can only be classified into four categories and they are : 1. attached, 2. gays, 3. jerks and 4. weirdos. no wonder i like unattainable jerks.

wow this is one stream of consciousness post.

man, the new pioneer station rocks! i went to school with every single intention to be late (because i don't want to move the instruments from the band room heh heh), leaving the house at only 3.10. by 4.15 i was at the new pioneer station bus stop waiting for 179, and i didnt even have to walk far! and yes i reached school by 4.30 anyway -_- (yes the station didnt rock in this instance, but any other day when i'm rushing for time.. it will rock!)

so turns out it wasn't that bad a day :)
the percussion tutor finally decided that i should have a part that does not involve playing the stupid triangle/glockenspiel/siao-easy-piano parts and gave me one that is instead, shit difficult. thanks. but still fun. and luckily i've learned the piece before in MEP so.. i look like i can sight read damn well. HAHA.
shakuhachi was the usual; me staring at the scores, dumbfounded. but at least time passed by a lot quicker because i decided that i should stop staring at the clock every 30 seconds and instead stare abit more at the scores and try to make sense of it.
and then i had a lovely dinner with ber at JP! :D i havent seen ber for the past 3 weeks and we had SO MUCH to bitch about hahaha. thanks ber for listening! and for telling me the craziest stories about crazy guys ;)
and today i calculated my europe fund and i'm suddenly feeling a lot more optimistic :) even without the ever useless GO. 我靠我自己!!!

okay time for my fyp.

i was looking at my mom's europe pictures and i realised that my mom has practically been to the whole world. europe, US, taiwan, china, korea, japan, australia, thailand etc etc. and half of those countries probably before she got married. OKAY TAIWAN AND US BEFORE I HIT 27!!

on an unrelated note:

THIS GUY IS EFFING FUNNY!

he's like the live version of Perez Hilton, on crack! hahahha

People who are clearly unequal, do not deserve equal chances - and i quote from this hilarious blog i sometimes read.

and it's march again. sian.

i've been feeling so out of sorts these few days, feeling very exasperated at many things, mainly 1. FYP and 2. the school and 3. tuition when actually none of the above should warrant any exasperation. i guess i'm just exasperated because i have no motivation to settle any of the problems BECAUSE i'm just lazy.

alright. so today after tuition, i will settle down at my table (as opposed to the very enticing bed) and get to work on my fyp report. yes, today i shall finish the damn thing, and maybe by wednesday we can hand it in to our prof for a look-see.

counting down to the end of fyp, the end of percussion and shakuhachi (i can't even begin to describe how much i regret taking that stupid instrument.) and the start of our europe trip. (i've got wanderlust after looking at all the gorgeous pictures on facebook from all the people overseas!)
