the final 14 hours.
so very, very painful.

hm. i think biz law caused some pretty serious damage to my brain. i did not sleep well at all and i could distinctly remember that i was dreaming about the paper all night long. in fact, i dreamt that the question on constructing an exemption clause (DAMN DAMN DAMN. what kind of a question is that?!), we had to do it such that it was reasonable under the Sale of Goods Act.

yes. COMPLETELY DOESN'T MAKE SENSE.

it was so damn vivid that i was jolted awake and the first thought that came to my mind was "DAMNIT I FORGOT TO WRITE ABOUT THE SALE OF GOODS ACT!!"

i am most displeased about this distress it's causing me.
oh yeah, and it also caused me to not be able to concentrate on FM at all. and instead of resting like i should have yesterday, i indulged happily in one full season of Friends, which i have watched before anyway.
of course, you can then predict what i was NOT doing for the rest of today.

shucks. this is why i cannot stay home to study. tomorrow i am parking myself at the airport from 9am to 11pm.

hm. i should really stop thinking about the different ways i can sue the irritating people i meet at the airport.

just before i go and catch up with sleep, i'd just like to heartily proclaim that

I AM SO FREAKING GLAD THAT BIZ LAW IS FINALLY OVER!

i thought my brain was just going to shut down halfway through part (a) of the first question, and then when i reached part (d) (bloody exemption clauses!!) i was thinking how i couldn't wait to get out of the exam hall.

well. it was one horribly taxing paper and now i'm completely exhausted.

SIX MORE DAYS. WHY DOES IT SEEM LIKE AN ETERNITY.

studying for biz law is like having your brain tortured.

slow and painful. and feels like having bits of your brain picked out, little by little.

oh no what am i talking about. i'm supposed to love biz law. BIZ LAW ROCKS!
(actually it does because whenever i hold the textbook, i look about ten times more intelligent already, because people think i'm a law student. heehee. yes i'd rather be mistaken for a law student than a medicine student, any day!)

anyway, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO SHUXIAN, my evil friend in FM! wow, i'm so nice, i came here just to type an entry to wish you happy birthday! :D may you have lots of birthday luck for your two papers on tuesday, and let's look forward to the kbox outing!

OMG I CANNOT WAIT. 7 more days to liberation. 7 more days to meaningless days with nothing to do. freedom is going to be extra sweet given the super long exam period we had this time round.

i had an extremely weird train of thought, which started off like this:

1. i was reading somebody's blog who said that one of her friends was quitting school. now this person is from my school, so i thought to myself, who's the gutsy friend of hers who decided to get herself out of all this uni exam rubbish?
2. apparently she was linked to this friend of her's blog, so i went to click on it. and then i realised it was no uni friend, it was a 17 yr old chao-ah-lian who decided to quit school, and from the looks of it she doesn't seem to be actively looking for a job, instead deciding to spend her time chasing after, NO NOT TAIWANESE SINGERS (that i can accept), but contestants from Project Superstar.
3. okay lor, i've got nothing much to say. so now her days are filled with fan club meetings and outings and whatsoevers with those contestants. -mystified look-. Project Superstar leh, not American Idol.
4. which made me come to this thought that if i ever have a daughter, i'd either make sure she goes to a good school like dunman where she'd not be influenced by all these chasing-after-competitions-contestants crap, or alternatively, i'd only allow her to listen to Class 95. such that even if she idolises any of the singers, there's a remote chance of them ever coming to Singapore, or they're all dead anyway, so she won't be chasing after any of them.
5. hm. of course there would be another problem if she grows up to become a bloody kantang like so many of the vj people are.
6. okay, so she MUST go to dunman. then she'd be fine. :)

end of train of thought.

of ass grabbing and other things
Good Friend and i were on the bus after the paper today, when we saw this popular, rather high profile guy whom we knew (alright, he knew) vaguely.

me: "hm. don't you think XX looks er.. more bulked up since last sem?"
Good Friend: "yah! i don't know it's because he went to work out and is all buffed up now, or it's simply because he ate too much and is now fat."
me: "hahaha YES. he has like, huge pecs now."
Good Friend: "yeah, he's like a bear now. just a matter of whether it's a grizzly bear or teddy bear underneath"
me: "HA. why don't you go and ask him? and maybe poke him in the stomach and check whether he has any abs"
Good Friend: "siao. i'm not gay. why don't you go and grab his ass instead?"
me: "AHAHAHAHHAAHAHA"

XX alights the bus some distance in front of us.

me: "HAHAHA. i can't stand it. now everytime i see him, i would think of the ass-grabbing"
Good Friend: "nothing wrong what, it would be wrong if i were the one to do it"
me: "cannot lah. half the school's female population would come after me if even dare to think it"
Good Friend: "no lor. they would ask you how it felt and admire you for being so brave"
me: "..."

i still think he's good looking though. lyd would surely agree. HAHA ;)

i find it incredibly unfair that this sem's IT paper was about 20 times harder than last sem's (i can't believe they actually asked FOUR questions in ONE PART of ONE QUESTION. 10marks. HOW TO WRITE?)and we had half an hour less to do it too.
my IT tutor lied. :(

right. an hour of Friends and i'll be mugging for biz law. i'm deathly afraid of it.

what an incredibly long day. i left my house at 11am and i reached home at 11pm.
yes, i forced myself to head over to the airport for a spot of mugging for IT, because i'm so screwed for it (IT. hahaha) and i'd just crash if i go home straight after the paper.

anyway, no comments about accounting. made a couple of incredibly dumb mistakes and pissed myself off, and my thoughts just didn't flow properly for the massive 40-mark question at the back, so.. lots of moderation please.

what i am going to do on the 1st of may:
1. wake up only after 11am
2. sit in front of my laptop and NOT BUDGE FOR THE ENTIRE DAY - prison break, the drew carey show, friends, heroes, all the accrued (ha-ha-ha) episodes of latelate show.
3. finish a tub of ben and jerry's icecream by myself while watching all my shows.

and once again, my motivation for this hellish period
things to do after exams:
1. kbox sessions with everyone. study group, OB class, poh and liren, seah lyd and co. EVERYONE!
2. splurge on clothes.
3. on shoes, too.
4. clubbing/pubbing
5. ZOO!!
6. cookie baking sessions @ jiayin's/lydia's. can can? :)
7. sit at starbucks/popeye's and rot with seah and reminisce about the times we spent mugging, torturously at the airport.

okay i am giving myself 2 hours maximum to finish the last report for BS 802 BioBiz.

i don't care if i'm writing crap. it's not called Bull Shitting 802 for nothing.

and i am very depressed because by hook or by crook i have to start on accounting tomorrow and the mere thought of reading through the disgustingly disorganised notes of the course coordinator just makes me want to tear something up.

countdown to END of exams: 23 days.

-EDIT-

time now is 12.32am. the rubbish assignment is DONE. man, i am GOOD at churning out absolute drivel at a high rate. i have a very good feeling i'm going to fail this particular assignment because i didn't attend one of the talks and i'm basically summarising the powerpoint slides with zero idea of what's going on.

SCREW IT LAR. i didn't S/U this module for nothing.

now i shall go read some FM.

no more school! (well, save for one last day of tutorials) so now it's time to get down and really start on my work, even though it's going to take every single ounce of my strength. really odd, i'm still not in exam mode yet.

well anyway, if you have the time, do catch Sunshine. it was a GREAT movie!
yeah i know, i expected it to get really bad reviews too, with the whole typical plot and all. i think The Core was a similar movie? but this one is good. more on character development, less on the OTT-CGI effects, and lots of twists and turns as well! obviously everybody died in the end (what did you expect from a mission to reignite the SUN?), but it was well worth the two hours and 8 bucks spent!

FM class pictures :)
my FM group yay!
my two crazy girls. peisee is just siao and shuxian is just evil but pretending she's not. HAHA. joking la! :)
SEE? rifling through my wallet!!
haha i think this photo is so cute. look at randy, junming and peisee laughing at nothing in particular!

with the tutor!

i think i won't be online quite so often for the next week or so. i will be forcing myself to go to the airport everyday to study, where i will not be distracted by my computer and not tempted by my bed.

sometimes i wish i could encrypt my entries, then give the private keys to only those i want reading the particular entries.

heehee.

ya sorry. from now until after the exams, i'll be peppering my entries with random bits of examinable information, just for my own revision.

"if your calling destination is not within the same local loop as you, your call will be switched across many switching stations until it reaches the correct loop. and if you are using a mobile phone, your call will be transmitted to the MTSO which then transfers your call to a POTS and then switched until the appropriate loop."

i don't even know if that really made any sense.

oh god, accounting is depressing the hell out of me. it's now currently the module that leaves me in a complete blur.

so now, instead of being motivated to do the last two tutorials, i'm sitting here, quietly depressed. haha, i have no idea why depression can be described as quiet, but it currently is, as opposed to the panicky sort, i suppose.

last lectures of Year One. accounting was pissifying as usual. jiayin and jiayi really spared nothing when giving their most honest feedback about the lecturer haha!

at LKC. AH NO MORE LECTURES WITH THE ACCOUNTING PEOPLE!! :(

and then there was IT quiz. ah, it was okay once again, but i think i got lucky because the bunch of questions i got were not easy at all. and my tutor painted a very rosy picture of the IT paper indeed, saying that it is extremely easy for us to get an A for IT. okaaaay, i'd like to believe him and i'd also like to prove Good Friend wrong, so i'd be mugging hard for IT :)

tutor:

"your attendance is only an indicative tool, i'm not going to grade your participation based on that"

"for the 5% presentation, i can safely say that most of you got the full marks"

"for the 10% participation, i blame myself for not giving you more chances to speak, so i cannot mark you down for not participating during class"

-draws answer on board- "... and this is why it's impossible to not get at least 70% of the marks for the ERD question. just write something down! we're all trying to help you here"

that's why my IT tutor rocks la. :)

full IT group! poor umar's on crutches.

alright i've decided to skip biz law tutorial tomorrow so i can have an extra two hours of sleep. business organisation doesn't seem to be so important as what the lecturer said today.

Biz Law Reminder of the Day: Consideration need not be adequate, only sufficient.

alright this just in.

the legacy lives on - dhsco retains its gold with honours.

when my sister sms-ed me, my first reaction was "huh" - a little on the disbelieving side. ok SORRY, but you can hardly blame me after the disastrous concert? and the fact that every single senior i've asked so far were NOT saying positive things about their progress. PLUS they were having a new conductor.

well that's dhsco alright. we can screw every single thing up before SYF but on the day itself, there'll be a tremendous improvement, and we'll just whoop everybody's asses. :) so this is why we're still the best and everybody else is not. (heh. joke)

oh and this reminds me of what happened two years ago, where a teacher-in-charge from a certain school, (oh sod it, that guy was from zhonghua, i'm no longer in this whole circuit, so i won't give a damn) actually turned to one of my juniors while in the audience, and openly made sarcastic remarks, out of which i distinctly remember something about them vowing to beat dhsco within four years (ie. by this year, i suppose).

okaaaaaaaay. seriously, if you're going to be advocating these kind of lousy attitude and complete lack of class to your students, then you cannot blame people for smiling sympathetically at the Nice Shiny Silver. if you're not going to be able to achieve something, don't broadcast it beforehand that you'd be able to. very paiseh one leh.
(hoho! suddenly reminded of the time when we were so completely pissed off by the SE people during the joint vjco-se concert that we wanted to do the whole *cough silver cough* thing. haha childish!)

sorry shuxian took this from your blog.

this is shuxian's pup, cookie. ooooooooooooooooooh so unbelievably cute!

and everytime i look at this picture i want to go and sleep too. :)

sidenote: people really shouldn't assume things. it only makes an ass out of them. and i'm grouchy because of the IT quiz tomorrow and i'm having a headache.

i can tell you that you won't get the real exam-related panic attack until you make a list of all the topics you have to cover in just a day over two weeks, and then you realise that you have Not Enough Time at all.

wow. i'm really starting to dislike Accounting. at this rate, Accouting II would be very much going the way of Stats. YEAURGH!

and. would today mark the end of a legacy? results to be known in another 12 hours or so.
