a hauntingly beautiful rendition of a heartbreaking song
this song is not for those in the emo mood. HAHA. (i made seah listen to this song and she became depressed. hahaha)

Mad World (HQ Studio Version) - Adam Lambert

All around me are familiar faces
Worn out places, worn out faces

Bright and early for their daily races
Going nowhere, going nowhere

And their tears are filling up their glasses
No expression, no expression

Hide my head I want to drown my sorrow
No tomorrow, no tomorrow

And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had

I find it hard to tell you
'Cos I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very, very

Mad world

Children waiting for the day they feel good
Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday

Made to feel the way that every child should
Sit and listen, sit and listen

Went to school and I was very nervous
No one knew me, no one knew me

Hello teacher tell me what's my lesson
Look right through me, look right through me

the saddest lyrics ever!
And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had

it's a cover, and duh, of course it's adam lambert's. haha. who else can sing with such class and finesse? i'm beginning to think that he's way to good for AI, just like how chris daughtry was too good for AI. maybe it'd be a blessing for him to get voted off because i don't think the AI producers would allow him to produce an album that showcases his style and talent. look at the garbage they've made the winners produce so far (seriously, what the hell happened to taylor hicks!)

anyway something hilarious i saw on a blog: these are some of the actual things ACTUALLY recorded in court.

ATTORNEY: This myasthenia gravis, does it affect your memory at all?
WITNESS: Yes.
ATTORNEY: And in what ways does it affect your memory?
WITNESS: I forget.
ATTORNEY: You forget? Can you give us an example of something you forgot?
________________________________________________

ATTORNEY: What was the first thing your husband said to you that morning?
WITNESS: He said, ‘Where am I, Cathy?’
ATTORNEY: And why did that upset you?
WITNESS: My name is Susan.
________________________________________________

ATTORNEY: Now doctor, isn’t it true that when a person dies in his sleep,
he doesn’t know about it until the next morning?
WITNESS: Did you actually pass the bar exam?
________________________________________________

ATTORNEY: The youngest son, the twenty-one-year-old, how old is he?
WITNESS: Uh, he’s twenty-one.
________________________________________________

ATTORNEY: Were you present when your picture was taken?
WITNESS: Are you shittin’ me?
________________________________________________

ATTORNEY: So the date of conception (of the baby) was August 8th?
WITNESS: Yes.
ATTORNEY: And what were you doing at that time?
WITNESS: Uh… I was getting laid!
________________________________________________

ATTORNEY: She had three children, right?
WITNESS: Yes.
ATTORNEY: How many were boys?
WITNESS: None.
ATTORNEY: Were there any girls?
WITNESS: Your Honor, I think I need a different attorney. Can I get a new attorney?
________________________________________________

ATTORNEY: How was your first marriage terminated?
WITNESS: By death.
ATTORNEY: And by whose death was it terminated?
WITNESS: Now whose death do you suppose terminated it?
________________________________________________

ATTORNEY: Can you describe the individual?
WITNESS: He was about medium height and had a beard.
ATTORNEY: Was this a male or a female?
________________________________________________

ATTORNEY: Is your appearance here this morning pursuant to a deposition notice
which I sent to your attorney?
WITNESS: No, this is how I dress when I go to work.
________________________________________________

ATTORNEY: Doctor, how many of your autopsies have you performed on dead people?
WITNESS: All my autopsies are performed on dead people. Would you like to rephrase that?
________________________________________________

ATTORNEY: ALL your responses MUST be oral, OK? What school did you go to?
WITNESS: Oral.
________________________________________________

ATTORNEY: Do you recall the time that you examined the body?
WITNESS: The autopsy started around 8:30 p. m.
ATTORNEY: And Mr. Denton was dead at the time?
WITNESS: No, he was sitting on the table wondering why I was doing an autopsy on him.
________________________________________________

ATTORNEY: Are you qualified to give a urine sample?
WITNESS: Huh…. are you qualified to ask that question?
________________________________________________

— And the best for last: —

ATTORNEY: Doctor, before you performed the autopsy, did you check for a pulse?
WITNESS: No.
ATTORNEY: Did you check for blood pressure?
WITNESS: No.
ATTORNEY: Did you check for breathing?
WITNESS: No.
ATTORNEY: So, then it is possible that the patient was alive when you began the autopsy?
WITNESS: No.
ATTORNEY: How can you be so sure, Doctor?
WITNESS: Because his brain was sitting on my desk in a jar.
ATTORNEY: I see, but could the patient have still been alive, nevertheless?
WITNESS: Yes, it is possible that he could have been alive and practicing law..

omg i'm leaving singapore in slightly more than 24 hours and i still havent got the motivation to finish packing. HAHA. instead i'm busy converting (ripping. ahem) videos from americanidol and youtube and putting them into my ipod. and i also have like a whole backlog of photos to upload and update.

yesterday's company farewell party was a complete hoot and it must have been the first time i consumed so much alcohol. man, the things you'll do when you're tipsy! and it's true, everything seems 10000 times more hilarious when you're high on booze. HAHAHA. looking forward to the facebook photos

alright 3 hours later at 3pm i'm still not finding the motivation. hahaha this is bad.

HOLY SHIT
HOLY SHIT.

i haven't been watching American Idol for the past.. 5 seasons consistently (since Season 2, really) with good reason. all of the contestants, and winners even, were yes, with great vocals, but all seemed to be cookie-cutter, boring (jordin sparks, carrie underwood zzzzzzzzz) and forgettable (really, who was the guy who won season 5?)and none of them ever really made it down the road as successful artistes save for kelly clarkson and chris daughtry

and so this season was no different. i stopped watching after the auditions (because that's where all the weirdos appear and it's really hilarious)but one day i decided to browse through the clips on the AI website and that was when i was completely and utterly blown away by the talent that is Adam Lambert.

wow i haven't been so enthusiastic about AI since clay aiken.
adam lambert just seems to be oozing sex appeal and charisma out of his every pore! he's got the most amazing stage presence EVER and his vocals are just.. mindblowing. man he's just smooooookin' hot.

best performance on american idol, EVER. omg just look at the way he flirts with the camera at the beginning. *swoon*

oh adam. you're so hot.

yeah he's gay. but it's alright. hahaha. gay or not, he's still electrifying and he had better be crown AI champion.

it was simply a lovely week! it was the first week where i was so occupied with work i didn't have time to feel sleepy although i went to work everyday feeling like crap. but yet i wasn't so overwhelmed that i couldnt do Europe research on the side. haha! and all that paris research put me in a really good mood because i'm finally going to one of the cities i've been wanting to go to since i was little! everything looks and sounds so gorgeous!

and google maps is seriously awesome.

a view of the street outside our paris hotel. i can get a full 360 degrees view of every single thing surrounding the hotel in crystal clear details. and if you map a route between two points, you can follow the arrows and you'll be able to get a view of what it's like as though you're walking between those two points! COOLNESS TO THE MAX!

the LV flagship store at champs elysees. gorgeous!

friday night i met up with the marketing girls and had a fab dinner with them, gossiping and bitchin! :) if you told me two years ago that we'd be meeting up after graduation, i wouldn't have believed you. so it's great that we're making the effort to do so! :) looking forward to our next monthly date!

xinwei ordered the bo luo bao and had the most hilarious reaction towards it. i promised i would put captions into the pictures we took of her reaction, so here it is. the general idea is there. haha

after dinner we walked around camwhoring

Are-You-Friggin-Kidding-Me Moment of the Day

WTF points to note:

1) PURCHASED BY HONG KONG?!?! UNITED STATES?!?! they cancel shows like Lipstick Jungle AND then buy things like THIS SHOW?! (okay i don't know which particular station bought this but i'm hoping it's not one of the major syndicated networks.) and HONG KONG?! what's wrong with your own shows?! please tell me you're not willing to watch THIS SHOW in lieu of your own fine programming!?

2)A MUSICAL?! WTF!!

3)CANNES?!?!?! OMFG. WHAT HAS THIS SHOW EVER DONE TO DESERVE THAT? THE FESTIVAL CELEBRATES ARTISTRY IN FILMS. WHERES THE ART IN THE LITTLE NONYA? THE ONLY ART I SEE IS JEANETTE AW TRYING DESPERATELY TO ACT (and looking it) AND ENUNCIATING EVERY SINGLE SYLLABLE.

okay i don't have anything against the show and i caught a couple of episodes (and nearly died from dai yang tian's really awesome acting, which oh surprise! got him a nomination for best supporting actor. what a complete insult to the other nominees) and i thought it was a rather entertaining show (and different from the usual garbage that mediacorp churns out)

BUT THIS IS BEYOND RIDICULOUS.

how long more does mediacorp want to milk this cash cow? it's just more and more neverending self-praising and self-congratulating
the show is overhyped, overrated and plagued with shoddy acting (mainly from the two whom i think we can all guess the identities of)and mediacorp is STIL harping about it being the highest rated shows in 15 years (well what do you expect from the quality of shows you usually produce?)

and some VP in mediacorp was quoted in this week's 8 days as saying that the show "just stands out" and he doesn't "think that any other drama should win". well, i do not think that any other drama WOULD WIN (rigrigrigrigrig) but at least three of the other nominees can definitely kick this show's ass any time. (i still remember The Golden Path as the first mediacorp drama i followed faithfully in like.. 10 years) and they SHOULD definitely win. but well, they wont. and the show would also probably sweep the star awards this sunday (definitely wont be betting against them! haha) and shewhocantactfornut jeanette aw would probably win Best Actress but well, her sudden rise in 扑光率 is oddly similar to that of kate tsui, (read: HK actress who cant act for nuts) so we can all conclude how and why that happened.

jeez that was a very long chunk about something i shouldnt care about. hahaha. sorry i got reminded of all the smug self-congratulatory ads on tv and radio when i read the quote in 8 days. seriously if this show was actually of any quality i would probably have nothing to say.

TGIF!! last weekend before euroooooooooope!

this is an entry for two very important people in my NBS life.

my two dearest FYP mates!

they're celebrating their birthdays just a day apart, though 10000km away from each other (i don't know lah. how far is switzerland from singapore?)

i can't help but feel so grateful that i've got to known the two of them, one of the main reasons being, i had two wonderful FYP group mates, if not (like how i often tell peisee) i could very well have ended doing with Miss 怎么办! horrors! but also because, these two lovely people are the few gems of friends i've found at nbs.

celebrating her 24th (and she still doesn't look a year over 21 HAHAHA) birthday first on the 22nd of April is bejeweled-pro yuezhen

looking at all her photos we can all conclude that yuezhen is a very silly person who likes to do funny things. hahaha. and indeed she's one person who can say or do the most hilarious things that completely take you by surprise (i cannot remember specific examples but there were a few times when her sudden comments just made me go WTF? and burst out laughing. but i think we'll always remember the memorable Stapler incident where she couldnt stop hiccuping. HAHAHA. man, i wasn't even there but just xinwei narrating the story was enough :P)

i first knew her when we were in the same OB and marketing classes back in year one sem one(which she claims she doesn't remember) and well, we weren't in the same groups so we didn't get to talk at all (and also, some people looked so dao. hahaha)after that, we didn't have anymore classes together until year two where we ended up in marketing together. the rest, as they say, is history. the clique that we formed there and then became the permanent group of friends that stuck together for the next two years, and the two of us had every single class together! even more than the rest. haha :)

always cheerful, helpful and full of crap, that's miss tai. thanks for always entertaining my 发花痴 moments, letting me play with your PSP on the way home, accompanying us for early mac breakfasts and gossipy lunches. hope your birthday would bring you lots of good luck! may you get to open your own shop and land a SHUAI GE (tsk. so superficial! hahah) with a six pack (like our korean hottie hor? hahahaha)

(okay i know i'm repeating whatever i told mei xin to write in your card. HAHA. sorry my creativity got limit lah)

next up, the Constant Wanderer shu xian!

half the time this woman is not even in singapore! i reckon by now she's been to practically the entire europe!

like yuezhen, i've known her right from the very start of school where we had the same OB and marketing classes. and because me, her and daniel (hahah omg i suddenly remember dear daniel!) were the only ones who didn't have econs class after marketing tutorial, we often took the same bus out of school after which i would head for my weekly shopping ritual at orchard while they went to the JP arcade. HAHAHA oh those were good times! and then with some luck, we ended in the same FM and IT class in the next semester (but she changed out of the IT class eventually. gosh i'm having all these flashbacks!) and even in the same FM group!

WHAHAHA.

and of course by some strange fate we realised that we're connected in more ways than just through nbs.

and then there's the CO link! haha!

yes lah, i really got 缘 with you lah, 恶心的! :)

shuxian is just one of those people that, i don't know, i can never remember what we talk about, but could just go on talking for ages. over the sems some friends came and went, but she's still here, even though for the past year we only had one class together! (okay lah kinda bobian, since we had to do fyp. hahah) but i'm glad because she's fun, nice, siao, and just one of the most awesome people i know!

thanks my lovelies. you guys have made two years in marketing just about the most memorable time in nbs. LOVE YOU BOTH!! :)

what a thoroughly exhausting week. i cropped up so many hours of lost sleep that i went ahead and cleared my sleep debt all at one go: i went to bed at 3am and woke up at 130pm.

and now my days are so long that the weeks are starting to feel very long and drawn out even though they're actually flying by and THERE ARE ONLY 12 MORE DAYS TO EUROPE OMFG!
technically, just 8 more working days and 2 lazy weekends!

last friday was kes's (kes'?) birthday lunch ('cos we had exams this wk. alright, THEY had exams. heehee)

afterwards, we joined dear mollie for a spot of studying (once again, they studied while i diddled around. haha)

last saturday the JTTW peeps went to explore Tamp One

lunch at Kim Gary.

crazy number of people queuing outside Uniqlo. seriously what's with the craze? their stuff looks like Gap stuff ie. boring.

the whole place was really quite big and it was nice strolling around. many lovely shops!
but eventually we ended up back at our favourite haunt at Cartel. haha

the guys trying to slather on as much butter as the bread could hold

gross! haha

and then it was yet another work week. i can't believe in another month or so, this will be what i'll be doing for the rest of my life until i retire. (work i mean, not PR. it doesn't seem right that i don't at least dabble in something marketing-related)

wednesday evening i rushed from work to tuition, and shuxian, honestly i have no idea how you do it.
8 hours at work, followed by 2 hours of tuition. THIS ISNT FUN AT ALL! i am seriously contemplating giving up the primary school kid because i don't quite fancy the idea of rushing to tuition straight after work, although the idea of extra 200 bucks every month is certainly tempting enough..
that, together with the other tutee i have, would bring me to an extra 400+ bucks per month, and which would mean i will have the same pay as xin mei and zhi! HAHA! (although mine is non-cpf-deductible so i have no idea i'm technically getting more or less. haha`)

thursday night dinner with dee at parkway was relaxing and gossipy :)

yesterday night had dinner with the JTTW peeps + sk at tampines Astons' and it was just another hilarious affair. sk has been christened an honourary member of our clan! HAHAHA! hey i need as many media contacts i can possibly get! ;)

collected my VS stuff and received other things that i bought this week!

yeah i know it looks really plain. but the material is LOVE! would have worth it even if it cost 25.50USD, and all the more so because i got it at 11USD!

the pink is so incredibly sweet! really great material which is quite a rarity for online blogshops

and isn't this just the chioest tube/spag top ever?

and some other stuff i'm just yearning for.

yeah yeah i know. i think i have a problem too.

wow i'm itching to shop :(
like really really itching.

oh great and now i've gone ahead and started to scratch the itch. which means the floodgates are open and there's nothing i can do about it. hahaha.

one down, many more to come, i'm sure

argh i HATE myself. WHY DO I NOT HAVE SELF CONTROL!

没有条件的人没有资格批评别人
for example, when you are stupid, you have no right going around saying other people aren't bright. similarly, when you're ugly (and sometimes also stupid), you also have no right criticizing how others look like.

this entry is written in simpleton english because some people can't understand anything chim-er than this. and yeah, it sure means i'm smarter than you and have the right to say so.

don't need your farking validation, jackass

i was supposed to go meet seah and gang for dinner but i was much too tired and sticky and so i went home, did a hair and face mask, showered and now i'm lying on my bed doing the one thing i love to do most: ROTTING MY LIFE AWAY!

anyway i LOVE this clip. because 1st of all, it's VS, i love the songs, Usher is sexaaaaaaay, and i like to make myself die of envy just looking at those beautiful models. they look UNREAL.

the super super hot adriana lima. not really beautiful, but she's HOT!

zhi's favourite i think! haha the beautiful alessandro ambrosio

and my favourite, miranda kerr! she's orlando bloom's girlfriend and we can all see why because she's sooooo sweet and pretty! and look at those neverending legs. who says god's fair? :(

and i skipped the rest because after awhile the blondes all really started to look alike to me. haha. anyway the boys should enjoy the clip :) so you see william and jj.. i dont just post pictures of hot guys alright? haha

wednesday was the last day of my entire school life and i do regret a little for not spending a lil more time in school and taking pictures. i don't love nbs but i do think i had a wonderful three years here (obviously i've forgotten all the times with shitty groupmates, lousy administration, crappy profs and disgusting exams haha.) and i've made some really really great friends, especially my marketing girls! and it's also thanks to nbs that zhi jyn yx and i became closer (and thus had a common enemy. HAHAHA) and well, one more thing i do HAVE to thank nbs for but more on that later ;)

photos courtesy of xin mei's 小蓝!

one thing i definitely would not miss about nbs. 2.5 years of queuing up at the damn 179 line in the morning is enough to make anyone start their day PMSing, and it so does not help that nbs is the second last stop in the loop around the school. all hail pioneer station!

3 years of S4 and S3, and yet sometimes i still get lost when somebody says to meet at S3.1 seminar room 3. what can i say? ntu was built by engineers

and i have no idea who's actually in this school of international studies. seems like it was some school ten years ago and they just forgot to tear down the name

the building that houses useless offices which do nothing to help people.

the place where nbs people spend 1/2 their school lives in. (the other half being in the reading room) oh the days where we had meetings for 6 hours on end here. stay too long here and you'll leave with a raging headache

the Most Disgusting Toilet in NTU. even if i need to go really urgent i'll rather walk 50m more and go to the toilet near the S4 lift. it's like BLOODY CHINA in there!

and indeed, our default meeting place for EVERYONE. first day of lessons, not sure where your classes are? "eh meet at S4 hor"

open the door and you'll enter the endless row of seemingly windowless and airless classrooms. haha. and for some crazy reason the entire corridor is freezing cold.

and the flight of stairs that we all eventually grew lazy of climbing. we're old now so we use the lift. HAHA

324 pictures over the last couple of weeks

by the last lesson, the number of people left is 1/10 of the original class size

we were all staring at xin wei's laptop intently.. what could it be?

學警狙擊! for 3 hours xin wei did not listen a single word of what the prof was saying (don't blame her either) and instead caught 2 eps of the show! haha!

our default meal of 斋米粉!

the friendly rebecca from Queens!

GMS! HAHA

the exchange students that weren't here last wk are now here and vice versa. haha

i WILL miss nbs. i can safely say it was the best years of my life after dunman (or maybe that's not too accurate because i had the shittiest two years in vj) nonetheless, i had fun, learned stuff, made great friends, and i'm going to miss school life

oh and back to what i said about having to thank nbs...

alright thanks to them, i got the internship at batey, and thanks to that, i'm now currently employed (not by batey. another bigger company) :D i'll be starting work as soon as i return from europe unfortunately, but it's in the industry i've always wanted to be in, and in a company that's incredibly kickass, so yeah. i can't be happier. :) as for those people who still think that all these reasons are still not justification for a not-so-awesome-pay.. well all i can say is open your eyes wide and stop thinking that the whole world revolves around money because you're making me laugh.
