why, doesn't 31st dec 2005 just seem like yesterday?

well, 2006 has been a pretty good year, as compared to the last couple of hellish years, especially school/results-wise.

for the past two years, i've been constantly making excuses for my pathetic results, attributing it to the fact that i just wasn't cut out for the science subjects, but thankfully still doing OK enough to get into the school i wanted to go to, and finally taking subjects that i believed that i would be better at.
however this only brought on extra stress when it came to the exams. if i didn't do well, it would only mean that i'm good at neither the sciences nor the slightly more artsy business, which means that i'm screwed. i was deathly afraid that i'd finally have to concede that i'm just dumb. fortunately, this time round the results were proportionate to the amount of effort put in. stats remain as it is - the bane of my life. but i've always sucked at maths so i don't expect any better. in fact, i've already done much better than expected given that i only did half the paper and had no idea if the other half made sense at all. heehee.

forged new friendships, strengthened old friendships.. this year, despite many of us being seperated (the nus-ers, the ntu peeps, the vj jrs, the army guys), we had many more attempts at gatherings and outings. suddenly you realise the importance of your dear old friends (and like i always say, i've realised that most of my good friends are from dunman. it seemed as though the last two years have been completely obliterated, save for the few gems such as poh, liren, sianghan, jh, vic, rach and co, and the co jrs. but of course, without vj, i wouldnt have got to know dunman peeps like jam, dee and silly seah better!)

2006 was also a good year because i've been blessed with great uni project group mates, some of which are now my good friends whom i'd like to be in the same class as next year. :) also, i've learned that first impressions/looks can be deceiving, and with a little more open-mindedness, you'd have a great time doing projects with the wide variety of people you meet.

2006 was also the year where i became better friends with study group girls because most of us ended up in the same school. many thanks to jiayi and jiayin, my life buoys during lectures and lunches! and to yuexin, who made my journeys home from school much easier and more fun with our seemingly endless amount of gossip :D (oh yeah, must thank your cousin also haha) and whenever we have a study group outing, lots of laughs are guranteed. must thank huimin, vincent and mj too!

and with the leaving of vj, me, seah and lyd oddly ended up being better friends with our vj/vs juniors. it all started one day where i was hit with the sudden urge to go kbox-ing and asked william , who then got jj and ck, and all of us together with lyd, and later on, seah, became the default group to go kbox with. and these nice boys are the people who cooked my birthday dinner haha! thanks guys, and thank you william for introducting me to the wonders of whoseline and craig ferguson heh heh. without which i'd have not been able to survive the exam period and i wouldn't have anything to do at home nowadays :)

one thing that i'm thankful for year after year is the fact that the dhsco com can remain close and tight knit even after 4 years. like jiayin said, i simply cannot comprehend the reasons why the committees after us have so many conflicts. hey, what was our worst? mol and kes unhappy with each other over the locking door incident perhaps? (wahahha. so childishly cute) these people gave me the best memories in all of my four years in dunman, and would probably continue to do so for the years to come -grins- so, thank you guys. thank you (in order of the com!) linli, jiayin, mol, lang, zhi, kes, jieying and mj! :)

and another group of people still remaining close up til today - my 2j mates :) even though we only had one gathering this year, it still made me appreciate them greatly. thank you to all those who showed up during the mid autumn fest gathering - jia, ah fai, wendy, ber, enqi, toonli, wenjin.

and of course, i'd like to thank the people whom i can always count on coming out anytime for a coffee or just a lazy afternoon chat - seah, mol and dee! thank you seah for all the thursday movie outings, the shopping company and a long hours of gossiping and bitching at starbucks. thank you mol for meeting me after school whenever i was bored. haha every girl needs a good guy friend with a good sense of fashion, i say! and of course dee for the chit chat sessions at starbucks as well! you people are the best :)

(wow. so many smiley faces. i am feeling happy today!)

oh yes, i'd like to also thank all my other dunman friends whom i'd neglected to mention. it doesn't mean i don't appreciate you, but it's just that i haven't seen you enough this year, so organise more outings yea? haha.

yes, it has been a pretty blessed year after all. happy 2007 everyone :) (no resolutions for me because they're just plain unrealistic heh heh)
