i found the mood to blog!

okay so there i was, eating dinner next to the tv watching the taiwan version of "don't forget the lyrics", when all of a sudden there was this guy and girl who came onto the show. i know their version involves mainly celebrities, but i had no idea who they were, so i just thought they were two mildly goodlooking (well, the girl at least) commoners with a weird dress sense.

and then they started singing.

and then my eardrums started bleeding.

i was like wtf. can't they vet through their contestants before allowing these two screechy people who are obviously tone deaf onto the show?

then i realised after the host mentioned their names, that these two people are apparently this two:

all i know of them is that (i THINK) they won some competition and they have the honour of singing The Most Annoying Song of 2009 为了你而活。

can somebody please enlighten me as to how people like these can be considered as singers?

and on the very same note, WHY ON EARTH ARE THEY BRINGING SINGAPORE IDOL BACK?

when will people realise, there is ABSOLUTELY NO ENGLISH MARKET here in singapore, not in the SEA region, not in the Asian region and please don't even think of going anywhere further. people who listen to english songs only want to listen to the real stuff from US/europe, and is there anyway locals can compete with the vocal prowess the westerners have? 绝对superstar makes a hella more sense because at least now if you asked me where kelly poon and shi xin hui are i can at least haphazard a guess at taiwan/china (and i would be right), but if you were to ask me about hady and jonathan, i'll probably say, "er back to singing at pubs, and.. is the other one still at NUS?" unfortunately, there is almost no tolerance for asians singing english songs in the english music industry, and we're all better off trying our luck at the chinese music industry where singaporeans actually do a great job in.

so can somebody PLEASE TELL ME WHY they are bringing this crap show back? and not i want to say la hor, i was reading this article about singapore idol (where apparently 4,000 people with very misguided dreams/rosetinted glasses showed up for the auditions) in either Today or MyPaper where the writer ended off (snarkily, i hope, if not she/he is very misguided too) by saying, "will we find singapore's adam lambert? only time will tell" and i was all, OH HALE NAW. YOU DINT JUST SAY THAT.

(reminds me of the time when mol said glambert reminded him of paul twohill and i nearly pulled a muscle laughing. hallo, please do not compare Proof-There-is-A-God with that Singapore Idol Loser please!)

i think i get too angsty for my own good sometimes :( today i nearly kicked a guy in the shin for pushing me to get on the escalator at Tanjong Pagar. but seriously, if you want to see Really Foul Male Specimen, just get off at Tanjong Pagar MRT at around 845am. not only would you get hordes of these uncivilised creeps, you also get Educated People Who Cant Differentiate Between Left and Right on the Escalator. it's quite the zoo!

okay updates about europe next after i shower.
