typical drama serial scenario:

long long time ago, girl likes guy and guy likes girl.
they stay together for a long time
then they break up for one reason or another (for example, guy involved in illegal dealings, girl is lawyer. d'oh! sounds familiar no?)
guy gets another girl
girl gets another guy
but in the end they realise that they still love each other
then get back together
then (typical of all typical scenarios!) guy's ex returns!
how?? (cos that girl gave up alot of stuff for that guy. DUH)
girl tells guy, as long as he is happy, it doesnt matter who he chooses. cos she will give him her blessings.

-rolls eyes-

typical things you would hear in typical drama serial:

"if you really love him/her, let him/her go, if he/she comes back, then you would know he/she is really for keeps"
"as long as you are happy with him/her, i would give you my blessings" and then proceed to live happily ever after as though nothing has happened.

are people really that selfless?
yeah right.

can i say, "as long as he is happy, i'm happy for him too" and mean it whole heartedly?
yeah right.

someone said recently
"don't know why he/she/they are/is so enthusiastic (about a particular project/plan/whatever)"
i can tell you why i'm not.
because i don't want to face a past which is already difficult enough to let go.
i do not need to deal with an onslaught of memories.

mj also recently said this to jiayin:
"if he makes you so unhappy, you should have let go of him a long time ago"
or something along the lines of that
if only things were that easy
then i think we would have all been happy and carefree people a long time ago.
because in the end, we're all still hopeful people.

me? -guffaws-
hopeful no more lah.
i've been stupid through and through, time and time again.
it is about time that i, erm, not be so stupid.
but i'll let you know when the time comes.

-sulks-
i hate studying. my brains are fried.
