old school Hollywood still does it the best

i watched Notting Hill, One Fine Day, What Women Want, The Wedding Singer, Never Been Kissed and 10 Things I Hate About You over the past week, and really, nothing quite beats these classic romantic comedies. these are the movies that people still can name today. i can't name you any recent romantic comedies.

ok maybe except for Just Like Heaven, which i thought was pretty good. but that's about it.

i watched One Fine Day just today and boy is George Clooney fine as hell. that charm, those looks, that sexy baritone; the Clooney is irreplaceable!

311 is so shiteous.
oh and some people are just so annoying.
i wanna watch more romantic comedies.

oh and anyway i gotta blog about friday which would hereby be known as The Day Jiayin's Car Nearly Died on ECP and Nearly Had to be Towed Off:
so anyway here's what happened in summary

jiayin drove to school on friday with about 3 bars of petrol (out of like, a 20 bars? i dunno) which by right would last her all the way to school and back home
when she went to meet us at downtown east for tropic thunder (hilarious by the way), she was left with one bar, which by right would last her from downtown east to home at kembangan. she didnt have time to fill up the tank beforehand because she was already running late
so after the movie she reminded herself to fill up the tank at the pasir ris area, because after 5 mins in the car the petrol indicator now showed that the tank was EMPTY. however because xin mei and i were completely distracting her, she forgot to do so
and while she forgot to do so, she also forgot to turn the right way on the highway. so instead of heading back to her house, we were on the highway towards changi airport
WITH NO PETROL.
WITH NO PETROL STATION IN SIGHT.
luckily she managed to turn off at the nearest exit. however, we were still on the extremely long ECP where the nearest petrol station was probably at bedok.
and we were still just outside the perimeters of changi airport
WITH NO PETROL.

now that i think of it, it's really hilarious. jiayin was looking really tensed (because she was thinking what would happen if the car really just stopped along the highway) and xin mei and i were both silent, as if keeping quiet would help save petrol. well bascially i think all of us were willing the car to continue moving until a petrol station.

so after a very nervewracking 10 mins which seemed a whole lot longer, we managed to reach the petrol station at bedok road in one piece.

HAHAHAHA.

hey but what do you know? apparently the car can go on for another 40-50km even with the petrol indicator signals an empty tank!
